I pulled my keys out of the ignition and swung my keychain around my finger. I swung open the heavy wooden door and dropped my bag on the floor. I twirled through my new house, free of people. I sang loudly to blaring music.
Ah, 5 Seconds of Summer never disappoints.
I was stopped short when the ringing of our doorbell rang throughout the house. I groaned and turned down the stereo, making my way to the front of the house. I pulled open the brown door and jumped at the face that stood in front of me.
"Hey sweetheart." Matty said, brushing past me and walking away into my house. I tried to shake off the dumbfounded look on my face and shut the door behind me as I walked to go find him. He was sitting at my kitchen table, thumbing through my sketch book.
"Hey! Don't look at those." I yelled, trying to grab the notebook from his hands. He stood up and held it over his head. I groaned and started to jump. I was around 5'7 and he was about 6 ft, so there was a height difference, but not by much. I eventually stopped considering I was landing all over him.
"What's this?" He asked, pointing to a sketch I had started earlier.
"I don't know." I stated. "Just thought of it."
That was a lie. It was really a drawing of Matty. The sketch was in pencil and the person didn't have eyes, a nose, or a mouth, yet. He had a chiseled jawline and cheekbones and his hair was shaggy and messed up. I looked from my drawing to Matty.
Dang I did a good job.
"It looks like me."
"It's not you." I snatched the book from his hands and slammed it shut. "I will be right back, watch tv or get food or something."
"Okay sweetheart." I rolled my eyes at the crappy nickname, but honestly I didn't mind it all that much.
I rushed up the carpeted steps and threw my notebook onto my dark desk. I fell back onto my poofy white comforter and my millions of white and decorative pillows. I sighed. I got back up. I had needs to attend to downstairs.
I found Matty spread out on my couch with a bowl of popcorn watching some show on tv.
"Does anyone ever come here?" He asked, searching the room for any sign of life.
"Not really. My parents are always on business trips and my brother is in college." I sat next to him and grabbed a handful of popcorn. He nodded and we watched some show for an hour until the popcorn was gone.
"So why did you even come here, and how did you find my house?" I asked Matty.
"I asked your friend Kalani or something, she seemed pretty hyped to tell me. And why? I don't know, I got bored." He answered, looking sad at the empty bowl of popcorn. At least his answer had made sense, I had told all of the girls at lunch where I lived and my number and stuff so if they needed me they could drop by.
"I'm bored." Matty said after a few minutes. "Let's play a game."
I groaned while he searched our 'game closet'.
He turned back around, toothy smile plastered on his face, holding up twister. I groaned yet again while he set out the mat and the spinner.
"Left foot red." He called while I moved my left foot from yellow to red. We were only slightly tangled at the moment.
"Right hand blue." I told Matty.
"I can't. I'll fall."
"You have to." He groaned and moved his hand.
Next thing I know I was on the ground with Matty on top of me.
