Author's Note: Hi! Welcome to a brand new story! So a little explanation before you read. As the last story I wrote was a Goosebumps fanfiction, (My Only Exception) this too will be relating to Goosebumps, but this is sort of more like the movie. R.L. Stine owns all of his original ideas, I just own my made characters. Our main character Nicole Applegate in my head is made to look like a young Avril Lavigne (idk just kinda stuck with me) but anyways, enjoy!!!!!! :)
Nicole's POV
History has never been an interesting subject to me. I sat at my desk, listening to my teacher, Mr. Matthews rant about something from the civil war. I tried to tune him out, but his voice carried too much. I looked around the room. Everyone else looked pretty bored too.
Thankfully our lord and savior, the bell, signaled class' end, and also the end of the day. Picking up my books I made a beeline for my locker, where my two best friends would be waiting for me. As I shuffled my way through the halls I frowned a bit.
I was in a cycle, a rut. A constant chain of the same daily events. Get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, school, go home and do homework, dinner, shower, bed. It isn't hard to tell that it was getting pretty boring. I needed something exciting to happen....
Approaching my locker I smiled at my two best friends in the whole world. Ellie Jackson and Carly Snider.
Ellie was a shy, quiet, nerdy type of girl. She was a genius though, god knows she's helped me out on more than a few tests. She had very light brown colored hair, always tied in cute pigtails, her eyes were a pine tree green always protected by her black, thick rimmed glasses, and her outfit of the day was one of her many sweater vests and a past the knee length skirt, also some classic "school girl" shoes.
Carly was a bigger girl, not fat, just born with naturally big bones. She has darker skin from having parents with different skin colors. Her hair is dark brown, braided and pulled out of her face with a headband and her eyes are a medium blue-ish color. She wore a brown jacket with a white undershirt, blue jeans, and some brown boots.
And together.....we were misfits.
"Hey Nic." Carly greeted.
"Hey you two. What's up?" I replied.
"Not much, just glad the days over." Carly replied."And that it's Friday!" Ellie added joyfully.
"Yeah and since it is Friday, what are our weekend plans?" I asked, throwing books into my locker.
"Well I don't know about Saturday or Sunday, but I've got an idea for tonight. My brother bought some booze yesterday, and there's this bottle of something called Watermelon Pucker in the fridge, I was thinking we sneak out to the park tonight and have a little party?" Carly explained.
"Sneak out and drink illegally?" Ellie questioned.
"Hell yeah! Let's do it!" I cheered.
"Well....I guess so....but I'm not going to drink a lot of it." Ellie stated.
"That's alright, cause me and Nicole are going to need a babysitter after we're done drinking!" Carly joked.
"And I wouldn't want anyone else to be my babysitter but you when I'm drunk, Ellie." I smiled.
"Aaw thanks Nic......hey, here comes Brad!" Ellie exclaimed.
We all turned. Coming down the hall was a hot piece of boy ass. Brad Murat was by far the hottest guy in school. To me at least. I could never resist the sexy call of a boy in a black leather jacket....aside from that he wore jeans and sneakers. His brown hair always looking damn fine to match those even damn finer brown eyes.
As Brad passed us he glanced over at us and shot us a smile. Damn. When he was gone Ellie nudged me as we began to leave the building.
"He smiled at you!" She said excitedly.
I smiled. "You think so?" I asked.
"Think so? Girl we know so! Last week I caught him staring at your butt! It's a bit obvious he likes what he sees. Why don't you talk to him?" Carly suggested.
".....I guess I'm afraid to." I admitted.
"Afraid?! Nicole, when are you ever afraid?" Carly questioned.
"Being afraid of talking to and being rejected by the guy that you like is a lot different than most scenarios of being afraid. It's got it's own separate level of fear..." I explained.
"Except you wouldn't be rejected!" Ellie supported.
"Whatever. So anyways, tonight sound like a plan?" I asked, desperate to change the subject.
"Absolutely!" Carly cheered.
"Yeah!" Ellie agreed.
"Alright. Text in the group chat when it's time to leave. I'll see you later." I said, waving goodbye to them.
I walked home by myself, leaves crunching beneath my feet. I admired the houses along the street, each one decorated for Halloween, it was next week. A chilly breeze blew my straight blonde hair around gently.I suddenly got a strange feeling. Like I was being watched. I turned to look around me. I was standing in front of the house next door to mine. It was creepy. Surrounded by iron fencing, the grass was high and weeds took over all of the flower beds. As far as I knew the house was empty, it still creeped me out though....I pulled my jacket around me tighter and kept walking.
Upon entering my house I discovered the usual, no one was home. My mom worked at the city hall so she was always home later, they kept her busy, but it paid well at least. Plus my mom was a schmoozer, she got along with everyone she worked with, I guess that's why she loves and focuses on her job so much. That and ever since my dad left, money had been tight.
I tried to push my father out of my mind and headed to the kitchen. Straight to the pantry to grab some crackers to eat while I did my homework.
Eventually my mom came home and began cooking dinner. She made us some BLTs. She started talking about some fundraiser thing she'd be throwing tomorrow night at our house. So I would get to drink two nights in a row, sweet!
I offered to do the dishes so that mom could unwind from work. Afterwards I went to the bathroom to shower and do my nightly ritual so mom didnt get suspicious. I returned to my room in my pajamas and sat on my bed. I pulled out my notebook and flipped to the page I had left off on. I loved to write and I was working on my latest horror story, but writer's block is a bitch.
Eventually 10:30 rolled around and mom came in to say goodnight. As soon as I heard her bedroom door close I started to move. Stripping off my pajamas I threw on some black skinny jeans with a white belt, black converse, and a dark blue sweater where the sleeves exposed my shoulders a bit. I put on some mascara and liner just because I couldn't stand my natural look.
I quietly left my room and snuck downstairs to the front door. I left it unlocked for when I came back home. I began to run down my street towards the park.
