Once you learn a new word for an object it can be difficult to describe it when there are more than one. We call this description a plural.

The most basic and most common rule to follow is to simply add an "s" at the end of the word.

Example: car + s = cars

There are however exceptions:

This one is tricky so it may take some practice.

If a word ends on an 'f' or an 'fe' you change the 'f' to a 'v' and add an 'es'.

Example: wolf becomes wolves

If a word ends on an 'x', a 'ch' or an 's' you add an 'es'.

Example : box + es = boxes

There are also nouns that do not follow a definite rule, the most common ones being:

- One person, two people
- One sheep, two sheep
- One child, two children
- One baby, two babies
- One potato, two potatoes
