Jess is on the left and Amanda is on the right. Sorry for the short chapter, I've been busy.
Chapter 5
"Heyyyy." Jess and Amanda say In sync as I open Jessica's car door and get in the back seat.
"Hi guys." I say back.
"Are you excited to go to your first football game?" Amanda asks me.
"Yes very much." Mostly because Brian is going to be there.
After about ten minutes we are at Rydell. We take our seats at the very top after we get some corn dogs and cokes.
"So which boy are you going to be watching the whole time?" Amanda asks me. Should I tell them the truth? I don't know if I want to risk it, one thing about me is I have terrible trust issues. They've been nothing but nice to me so I decide to tell them.
"You guys swear you won't say anything?" I say with an eyebrow raised.
"We promise Rachel. You can trust us two." Jessica says.
"Honestly, my eyes are going to be on Brian most of the time." I say shyly.
"So you like him then?" Amanda asks.
"I'm not sure. I'm very confused." I say truthfully. They just nod there heads.
"So what about you two?" I ask.
"My eyes are on Grayson." Amanda says.
"Mine are on Ethan." Jess replies. I crinkle my nose. I don't know those twins very well, I'm not sure if I like them. If they are just like all the other athletes then I probably won't. Before any of us can start a conversation the coach comes to the center field.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Rydell high. The game will be starting in a couple minutes so please take your seats. We'll first welcome the guest team, Beacon Hills onto the field." Half of the audience starts to cheer for them as they run on to the field. "And now please welcome the home team, Rydell high!" The other half of the audience stands up and cheers, me included. As soon as I see the team running towards the field my eyes spot Brian. It's hard not to since he's the tallest player.
Everyone takes there seats and the game begins with the home team with the ball. The whole time my eyes never leave Brian. I have to admit, he's really good. Also, football isn't that bad to watch. Brian stays in the game the whole time, probably cause he is the best quarterback ever, ok that may be a bit of an exaggeration but he's still really good.
The twins and Jack aren't too bad either. They all seem so focused on the game. Brian makes his second touchdown and the crowd goes wild. Everyone cheers and claps for a couple minutes. The whole time Brian has a huge grin on his face.
After 2 hours the game is over. I walk down the bleachers with Jessica and Amanda behind me, still gushing about how hot Ethan and Grayson are. They just took off there shirts which didn't help the situation either.
My gaze wonders and I spot Brian. He sees me too and smiles. I'm about to go up to him and actually speak but Anya goes and throws her arms around him. My heart squeezes tightly and I look away as fast as possible. I forgot about Anya being in the picture.
"It's ok Rachel. She's nothing compared to you." Jessica says and Amanda agrees. I smile at them gratefully. I know Anya is prettier than me and more confident and outgoing, I'm nothing compared to her. We walk to the parking lot and just as I'm about to open the car door I hear my name being shouted. I turn around and see Brian running towards me.
"Hey Rachel." He says once he's a couple feet away from me.
"Hi." I blush just a little once I notice how close we are.
"Ahem. So um thanks for coming. A few of the guys and me are going to get pizza do you and our friends want to come?" I really really want to say no, just because of what I just saw with him and Anya but I know Jess and Amanda would love to have pizza with the twins so I can't pass up the invite.
"Uhhh, sure. I'll tell the girls. See you there." I say with a smile that is half sincere.
"Cool. Bye Ray!" He then turns around and runs to his group of friends.
Jess and Amanda turn around from there seats to see me.
"What did he say?!" Jess asks.
"Nothing, he just invited us to get pizza with him and his friends. I said yes if that's ok."
"Are the twins going to be there?" Amanda and Jess say at the same time. I laugh.
"Yes." They squeal in excitement and Jess immediately reverses and heads to the pizza parlor. I take that as a yes.
We end up getting there the same time as the guys. Only Jack and the twins came along. Brian holds the door open for everyone which I immediately swoon over cause most teenage boys don't do that nowadays. I'm the last one to enter but before I go in Brian pulls me back outside. I yelp.
"Sorry didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to tell you something." Brian says.
"Ok, what?"
"I talked to my dad about me doing art and stuff instead of football next year."
"Ooooh! What did he say?" I say with excitement in my voice.
"He's still not 100 percent on bored but he's about 50 percent. Which is better than before." Ugh. That sucks, why can't his dad just let him be himself?
"I'm sorry Brian. At least it's progress!" I give him a small smile.
"Yeah, thanks to you." He grins that handsome grin of his.
"No problem, but you could have done that yourself, you just needed a little push."
"Yeah and you were that push. So thanks Rachel, your the only one who has actually cared about what I want to do." He surprises me with a hug. His giant arms wrap around me and I freeze. I've never been hugged by a guy before. Before I can even enjoy it or actually hug back its over. He smiles at me and I smile back and we head inside.
My head starts spinning and I can't stop thinking about that hug. For normal girls that wouldn't have been a big deal but for me. It was crazy. I have a feeling I won't be able to get my mind off of it for the rest of the day, or week.
