"How'd it get dusty in here?" Alora chuckles "Time doesn't even pass here!" she tears a piece of cloth from her underskirt and wipes up the dust with a cheerful whistle, she then notices something... Something feels off. She feels uneasy, yet decides to play it off. "Someone... Here? No way..." She twiddles her thumbs "No way in hell..."
She feels a sort of nostalgic feeling and remembers her time out of the void, she was about to turn 15 before all this happened as it was just a day before. It makes you feel kinda sad when you think about it, it makes her feel worse. She misses her family, she misses people in general. Even Rachel at school, yeah she was rude but it was better than where she is now. She misses having an identity, being faceless makes her feel like a nobody. She starts making quiet sobbing sounds
"Hello? Is someone there?" A voice cries out, Alora jumps and wipes her tears
"Y-yes! I'm here!" Her voice was joyful, finally someone would respond. She sees someone running towards her, a tall bleach blonde hair coloured boy with bright blue eyes in some sort of school uniform.
"Oh great! I'm not the only one who got screwe-..." He stared at her as his expression dropped
"Good morning! Or Good afternoon... I have no idea what time it was when you got here!" She giggled as the boy stayed speechless "shall I introduce myself first? I'm Alora! Or at least that's what I was named by another..."
The boy remained shocked as it looked like his eyes were popping out of his head.
"Anyone home? Helloooo?" Alora waves her hands in front of his face to bring him back from his zoning out, she realises the problem. "Oh.. Right. It's my face isn't it? I know, I don't have one." She sighs scratching the back of her head.
The boy shakes his head as he comes back to earth-... I mean; the void. "Sorry, that was rude of me. I'm Dakota, where are we exactly?"
"Well, the void of course!" She said it as it if was obvious, though it wasn't really. "How'd you get here?"
"Some weird girl in my class cursed me or something, we used to date but something happened and I had to break up with her, she didn't like it." He chuckled "she had this weird book"
"Weird book..?" Alora's heart started beating faster, this was the one to break the curse! 'What did I have to do again?' She thought to herself
"Yeah, she said the only way I'd get out is if someone came to help me. That sounds like total bullshit though."
"Please don't swear! If you swear no one will save you!"
"What does that have to do with it?"
"Not many people come by to the void, what happens if they're super sensitive to cuss words? They won't want to help you!"
"Whatever you say." He shrugs "How long ya been here anyways?"
"Not any amount of time particularly, time doesn't pass in the void."
"When did you get here then?"
"That is a good question, but I don't remember." She lied, she didn't want him to feel bad. "What was the name of the girl that cursed y-..." She stopped talking, the way she was going to end the curse, the only way she could end the curse, was to kill the boy.
"Whoa, you get mad at me for spacing out and there you go!" the boy laughed "her name was Laura, that's her nickname, it's been so long I've forgotten her real name!" Was she actually going to do it? Why is she even questioning this? She deserves to leave the void! But time in solitude has started to turn her crazy. But what if this ISN'T the boy to end the curse? She'll kill her only company that she's hand for quite a while.
"So why are you here?" Dakota raises an eyebrow
"It's kind of a weird story, it'd be best if we sat down"
"Where?"
"On the floor."
"Isn't there any chairs?"
"We're the only things here whether we like it or not" she sighed as she sat down, Dakota followed "My father was a scientist who believed in other worldly events. He tried to open a portal to a place where I'd be forever young and so would he. It was supposed to be an early birthday gift. He opened the portal, I stepped in, then something went wrong. He told me something very important before the portal failed, the way I would get out."
"What was that way?"
"The only way out for males was to die, they'd be reborn in the human realm... But they couldn't just kill themselves, someone else had to kill them"
"What about females?"
"They... He didn't get to tell me that" the entire story was a bluff made on a whim "now, I'm trapped here"
"That really sucks, but I take it that if you kill me I can go back?"
"Of course!"
"if it's not too much to ask"
"Of course it's not, what school you go to?"
"Hmm? Oh it's ******** High"
'How shall I execute this? Suffocation? Or a quick death like a neck snap?' She thought 'Neck snap.'. "Wow! Sounds great." She stands and walks behind Dakota "I'll say hi to your friends and tell them you existed." She grabs Dakotas head
"Wait what does that mean?"
"If you die in the void, you're forgotten. You're never going back" Alora sighed, quickly snapping Dakotas neck. She felt different, she could breathe! She felt around her once blank face to find a face she missed. She was so happy! A black hole appeared, shortly after the once black void had now become an empty classroom. It was 11:59pm.
She looks around, this is where is happened. She felt like crying, but before she could do so the clock strikes midnight.
"I'm... 15..." She laughs nervously "I'm... 15!" Her laughs became louder as tears rolled from her eyes.
"Hello? Is someone there?" A voice cries out, Alora jumps and wipes her tears
"Y-yes! I'm here!" Her voice was joyful. She sees someone running towards her, a tall bleach blonde hair coloured boy with bright blue eyes in some sort of school uniform.
"Laura!" He shouts tears falling from his eyes
"Dakota..." Alora finally realised. That world in her head wasn't imaginary. She was Laura the whole time.
Alora Swinsfield died 15 years ago, the curse was broken, yet it can't bring her back to life. "I... Killed you..." her eyes widened as her voice was breathy and panicky. "You're supposed to be in the void.."
"Void?"
"A dead corpse laying across the round!" She shouts "This face isn't worth it!"
Dakotas eyes turned green as he walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her
"Don't let the timeline repeat, Alora. Neither of us want to be back in there"
