Just the begining

The worry, the sleepless nights, the dreaded phone calls and letters, all of that is well it's part of being engaged to a solider...until it breaks you.
Ant's view
I woke up and looked over my shoulder to where Dec should be but he's not there, I see a note, his bag gone and his army uniform gone. It hit me then after him being home and safe for just under 6 months he's been deployed again. I reach over and read the note 'I'm really sorry sweetie I got a call from my Sargent at half 2 the whole army and Air Force is being developed to Iraq it's war in the Middle East and Britain is involved now, now stay strong don't worry smile and be happy, even though I'm bricking it every time I'm happy because I've got you, we'll have to put the wedding back as of this I don't know when I'll be back but I love you so much you're my world. Yours forever Britains best looking soldier Declan Donnelly' by the end I was crying he can't go he can't leave me we're meant to get married next week. Ya kna Declan will do anthing for his country he'll even put his life at risk to protect the United Kingdom but i know at the end of every time he goes away i know he'll come back, that's what Dec does he survives anything. He's not only Britain's and the Queens soldier he's mine. I get up and get dressed, i go to make something to eat but the worry of my baby being at war makes me feel sick so i skip breakfast and go and phone some people to try and take my mind of it but it never really works he's always on my mind i'll always think of him ya kna he's my lad he's my Declan.
Dec's View
i've just been rushed to the underground bunker because our opposition open fired on the helicopter i was in, all i could think about was Ant, i stood there getting my weapons and everything ready but i really wanted to be back home in London with my gorgeous soon-to-be-husband. "all right everyone up" the sarge shouted walking in the bunker and everyone stooped and stood still as he spoke "we are under sever attack we've brought France in as back up and we have the USA on stand by if we need them, we are heading for a world war now Russia has joined Iraq, Puton is sending his army, navy AND air force out in the next half an hour we need to be ready to fight back.....ahh Donnelly glad you made it welcome back" the sarge said and looked at me "anything for my country Sarge" i reply and to be frank i was bricking it i don't know what it is but since i left and arrived here i don't have a good feeling. "okay CODE RED CODE RED EVERYONE MOVE THEY'RE ON FOOT AND IN THE AIR THE RUSSIANS HAVE ARRIVED LET'S GO LET'S GO" the sarge shouted and everyone got their fire arms and what we needed and well we went to annihilate the Russians and Iraq. We all spread out and we had at least 6 of them in target and we knew at least 100-300 were on foot alone so god knows how many where flying in and don't even remind me of the navy my motto is 'less thinking more shooting' i live by it and i stand by it till the day i die.
Outside the bunker is horrifying bodies everywhere, blood in the air such a thick smell it sticks in your throat, the lives that get destroyed by this war is unreal i see kids young as 3-4 running around barely enough clothing on and no shoes they are running for their lives THEY'RE KIDS MAN THEY'RE CHILDREN , But i remind my self why i'm here:
1) to protect my country & serve my Queen
2) to beat these basterds
and
3) so i can be the best man Ant can marry. Anywho enough talkin' eh i've got people to defeat.
3rd Person
The war was well and truly on Obama sent over troops to help France and Britain and each 20 minutes more and more back up was arriving but they were being stretched and they were running out of ways to keep the Russian's and Iranian's back. Back in London Ant had phoned everyone involved with the wedding and canceled it all that was left was their families and he wasn't looking forward to speaking to the Donnelly family especially Anne.
Dec was out on the battle ground looking out for Russian snipers and them in the air, what he didn't know is the ground he was walking on had hidden bombs underneath it. They set of certain gasses when they're about to explode "GET BACK EVERYONE BACK THERE'S HIDDEN BOMBS UNDER GROUND......NO DONNELLY RUN" Dec was running as fast as he could and he could see the bunker in sights but all of a sudden he was shot up in the air and he heard "DONNELLY NO" being shouted before everything went black.....every soldier around seen the sarge fall to his knees and just looking at a lifeless Dec on the field "I promised Ant I'd keep him safe I promised Ant he'd always go home safe" the Sargent said and nobody had ever seen him like this, but to be fair one of his best soldiers has just been blown up in front of him. They took his body of the field and got him ready to send home back to Britain, the Sargent look as the doctors got him ready his legs where shaken his hands trembling and his eyes streaming he couldn't believe he lost Dec how the hell is he going to explain this to Ant, he noticed a photo in Decs hand " let me see tat" the sarge said going over and they handed it to him it was a picture of Ant & Dec looking in each others eyes with love and devotion for each other the Sargent looked at it for a good five minutes "right he's ready we need to fly him back ASAP" the doctor said and the Sargent didn't hear them he was still looking a the photo "Sarge he needs to go, we've got the Sargent in Britain going to Mr McPartlin as we speak" the doctor repeated, "right eh okay when you fly him back put this with him i know he'll want it" the Sargent said giving them the photo he found.
Ant's View
Today has been better than what i thought it'd be. i'm sitting on the couch watching the TOON get beat AT HOME by SUNDERLAND its the derby and we're getting beat unbelievable as me mate would say, i see a envelope by the DVD case i get curious as i do and go over and written on it is "My Dearest Anthony This Is A Letter For You If I Don't Come Back, Only Open If I'm Gone" me being me i went to open it but the blood doorbell went, ya kna when you're doin sommet and you get interrupted this is one of them moments ya kna what i mean like but enough moaning i go and answer the door "Mr McPartlin i'm Sargent Gareth Williams i'm from the British Army i'm afraid i have some news, can i come in Sir" Sargent Willaims said and my blood ran cold this only happens when ya kna someone is injured or been killed oh god Declan he can't be my baby has to be safe "eh sorry yeah come through Dec is..is he eh okay" i asked as we sat down and Sargent Williams looked at him "i'm very sorry Declan Donnelly has been killed in action" is all i heard and i zone out he can't be he's my world, my soulmate, the love and light of my life he's..he's gone. i'll never see the smile that brighness up the world never mind a room, them sparkling eyes that i could get lost in and just him in general i'll never see Declan again and bit by bit i feel my heart breaking as the Sargent is speaking to me but i can't hear him my whole life has just turned off....the letter I have to read the letter......
