Hey everyone! It's Humfrey here. Just wanted to give you all a quick update on Home!
I haven't been able to update as often as I would like because, unfortunately, I haven't had as much writing time as I would like! My work and flying schedules have both been really thrown through a loop these past three weeks with weather issues, people quitting and me being left in an understaffed, slightly overworked position, and I may or may not have met someone. Yay life!
Anyways, I just wanted to let y'all know that I am working on the next chapter, "The Timberwolves," bit by bit as I have time. It's also a bit of a challenge for me; I want to tell Nadie's story, but at the same time, I have already told Wolv and Ice, and I don't want to be re-hashing/re-telling them anymore than necessary. I've been trying to find a bit of a balance point between previous material and new material...it's not easy! I supposed I need to also keep in mind that, if you're reading "Home," you've probably read the previous two and you probably know what's going on and what's happened...but I digress!!
Now, with that little ramble out of the way...I found a song on youtube a while back which, in my opinion, just fits this series perfectly. It's a song done by a fellow who goes by the name "Aviators," and while the artist does do a lot of MLP-themed songs, this one is open to interpretation. I think that, if you view the song as being sung from Humfrey's point of view regarding Doctor Abrams, well...it just fits! Here ya go!
Lyrics:
From the moment I saw you, I knew you were different
But how was I supposed to know
That you were just a monster inside?
I made a mistake to doubt that you would figure me out
And use me for your own intentions
I'm not just your piece of clay
I won't just bend your way!
Take it or leave at your own discretion
I believe
That angels fall the farthest in the end
And you will see
You've hurt more than apologies can mend
You're not the saint that they think you are
You're just a falling star burning bright in the darkness
Don't put the blame on me when your inconsistency
Leaves you all alone and hopeless
Fool me once shame on you, I'm not letting you strike twice
I learned my lesson last time
I know you don't play nice anymore
I let you twist me around
Mentally tie me down
I won't live for the moment like you do
So here's a message sincere
To tell you I'm finished here
I'm leaving you with your lies inside you
Yeah I'm no hero
But I see the villain that you are
You never saved me
All you ever gave me was scars
If what you don't know never hurts you
Why did your secret stab me in the heart?
If you're the antidote to my happiness
Than that's probably what tore us apart
Angels fall the farthest in the end
Guess you fell the farthest in the end of it all!
I'd recommend you go check Aviator's channel out! Even if you're not into MLP (for the record, I am not) he does have a lot of pretty good tunes and remixes!
