LIFE

jj.

Jeongguk was staring out the window, watching how the grey clouds slowly took over the bright blue sky. The wind, who moved the trees, was getting stronger and slightly colder.

He sighed, looked away and made a try to concentrate on the stuff, that came out of his teacher's mouth.

And failed.

Another sigh.

The time was passing by painfully slow and made the boy go crazy.

After what seemed like hours, the class ended. Jeongguk picked up his bag and quickly got out of the school to wait for his best friend, so they could walk home together.

Just like every other day.

Jimin finally arrived, a few minutes late (nothing new under the sun), with a big smile and hugged Gukie.

"How was your day, kiddo?" he asked playfully and ruffled Jeongguk's hair.

The boy smiled. Jimin was the only person he'd let do something like that and call him 'kiddo'. He had always seen him like a big brother and their friendship went way back. Jimin was one of the few people that Gukie truly trusted.

"Taehyung left me alone on the roof. Again," he laughed with a light bitterness in his voice.

Jimin clicked his tongue.

"Why do you even talk to him? He is such a weirdo," he replied, as they started walking down the street.

"He is interesting. And just smarter than all of us. That's why he is a weirdo, hyung," Jeongguk rolled his eyes.

Jimin shrugged shoulders.

"Whatever you say. Anyways, today Hoseok asked me out," the boy sighed.

Jeongguk frowned at him and raised his brow.

"But you like Yoongi, right?"

Jimin nodded. A little blush creeped on his chubby cheeks. Just like everytime Yoongi, his big crush, is part of the conversation.

"Yeah. That's why I said no," he bit his lip "But I feel a bit guilty. Hoseok is a good friend and now he probably won't talk to me anymore. He will be embarrassed."

Jeongguk patted his hyung's back.

"It's okay. Why don't you approach him first then?"

"Huh? And how should I act? Just like nothing happened?" Jimin furrowed his eyebrows sceptically.

Jeongguk nodded and grinned.

"Exactly. It might be a little weird at the beginning, but I'm pretty sure your friendship will remain the same, if you give enough effort."

Jimin thanked Jeongguk for the advice and started a rant about how Yoongi doesn't even notice him. Gukie groaned and laughed on the right places, but his mind was still on the roof.

In the lap of a boy with chocolate hair.

And big old book in hands.

Just casually talking about death and life.

Searching for a meaning and logic.

But somehow never found them.
