Chapter 3

Red's POV:

"And my name is Red, and I'll see you all later. Hasta luego mi amigos!" Shutting the camera off, I hand it to Corey. He then gives it to Tim to edit, and next week it will be uploaded to SkyDoesThings, as A Day in the Life of Red Part 2. Putting my head in my hands, I sigh. I still need to record two videos today. But I'm so tired. Ugh...Can this day just end?!
I suddenly hear the main office door being knocked. Who could that be? Turning to Corey, I ask, "Are we expecting someone today?" He shakes his head no. I turn my head back to the door. "I...I guess I'll answer it?" I see Corey shrug out of the corner of my eye.  I walk the two steps towards the door, and open it carefully.  When the door is fully opened, I see a blonde girl, sitting hunched over on the door step, sobbing.  My heart immediately wrenches for this poor girl.  She only looks about 13 or 14.   I walk carefully towards the girl.  "Miss?  What's wrong?" I ask quietly.  She slowly turns to head to me, wiping her eyes on her sleeve.
"I...I don't k-know w-where my dad is, and I'm lost.  You were the only p-person to answer the door."
Corey, who was standing motionless in the office, suddenly moves and kneels and front of the girl.  "What is your fathers name sweetie?" he asks.
"S-sky. His name is Sky.". I suddenly furrow my eyebrows.  She doesn't mean Adam does she?  She looks way too old to be his daughter.  It must be a coincidence.
Suddenly, Adam runs up, out of nowhere and hugs the young girl tightly.  "Stephanie I was looking everywhere for you!  Where were you?!" Sobbing into his shoulder, she says "I- I lost you across the street.  You just d-disappeared!" Adam gives her a kiss on the forehead, then pushes her behind him. Adam turns his head to Corey and I, who just rose from the floor.  "What did you do to her?!" Oh God he's angry.
"We didn't do anything Adam! We were just talking to her!  Who even is she anyway?!" I say frustrated.
Adam scowls, saying, "She's my daughter you idiot!" Corey and Is' mouths fall to the floor.
"Adam- are you serious?!" Corey says frustrated. Adam nods.  Suddenly, we are a girly laugh behind Adam.  "Dad- I can't keep this up any more!". She suddenly falls on her back, holding her stomach in laughter.  Adam starts laughing to, as if the situation never happened.  Corey and I were completely confused.  "What the hell is going on Adam?!" I ask frustrated. Adam smiles, and holds up one finger, then grabs the girls hand- I think her name was Stephanie?  Isn't that what Adam said?- and raises her back up to a standing position.  Her eyes are twinkling from the laughter.  Adam then starts talking, explaining the situation.  "Meet Stephanie.  She is my daughter- my adopted daughter.". A lightbulb goes off in my head.  Oh that makes much more sense.  "We set up, well a prank," Adam continues, "And that was that little skit you saw.  My daughter is quite the actress- she did better than I thought she would!" Stephanie takes a bow, pretending to take off a fedora, brandish it in front of her, and puts it back on her head.   I chuckle at the sight.  This girl is quite the character.  "When did you adopt her Adam?" asks Corey. 
"Oh, does an hour ago sound right Steph?" says Adam.  She nods.  "Pretty much."
My eyebrows shoot up.  "Why didn't you tell us you were adopting sooner?" I ask.  He shrugs. 
"I wanted to keep it a surprise!"
I shake my head chuckling.  "Only you Adam. Only you.". He laughs at my response.  Turning to Stephanie, he says, "Why don't you go explore the offices?  Introduce yourself to everyone else.  We will make a video announcing your arrival later okay?"  Stephanie happily nods, and skips into the offices, and starts examining everything.  Adam then turns back to us.  "Now, you two have some work to do.  Get on it!" Laughing, I salute him, and walk into the offices, heading towards my office.
