"What do you think, Eli?" She held up the hand made weapon. The top part of it was a shard of glass.
The winged insect flew down from a branch and landed on the weapon. The girl inspected the butterfly.
"Whatever that thing was really did a number on you, didn't it?" The girl nodded as if the insect answered.
It has been who knows how long since the.. Incident. Since then, nothing has mattered. She walked on and on, but eventually, just gave up. She's been laying against a tree, fantasizing about leaving this hellish place. Sometimes her day dreams felt real, she felt the warmth of her mothers hugs. And heard the scratching at the door from her cat.'What was that cats name again?'
The girl closed her eyes.
"Eli, What do you think she's doing right now?"
She giggled. "Probably.. Reading a book?"
The girl looked up at the leaves of the tree, it looked as if they glowed from the sunshine.
"I never got to ask her if she liked to read."
She looked at the mark on her hand, it still had a bruised black mark from the glass.
"She would have liked this..." The girl layed her head against the tree and closed her eyes. For a moment, it felt like she was sleeping. But she knew she wasent.
'If only this was a dream.'
She thought. A furmiliar voice broke her from her thoughts, she suddenly heard a heartbeat, and... Was that someone hugging her?"Your not going to fall asleep ya' know."
The girls eyes jumped open. She looked up, seeing a face that she never thought she'd see again, smiling at her.
"Amber?" The girl sat up a bit. "What happened, I thought you.. Where did you go?"
The girl looked up at the sky, it was night. In the dim light, she noticed Ambers clothes were clean and untouched, her hair was in its original form, brown wavy curls. Her eyes weren't glassy, they were glowing with life, her eyes were hazel. But the big change was all around her, Amber had wings, as if she was an Angel. But her wings were stained with a spots of red. The girl wanted to ask about that, but there were so many other questions.
"I didn't go anywhere." Amber said.
"What happened?"
"I can't tell you yet."
"Are you safe?"
Amber looked around "No.. Not yet.. But I will be, and so will you."
"How do you know that? Amber.. What's going on?""All you need to know is that you have to get off your a** and start walking again. Trust me... You won't doubt it. Until then... Just be patient, ok?"
The girl nodded,
"Ok."
Amber hugged the girl tightly. The girl silently cried into ambers shoulder, staining her clothes. When the girl opened her eyes again, Amber was gone, and she was alone in the moonlight. The girl looked around, and then picked up her the weapon she made. The glass shard shimmered in the moonlight, it was easier to handle, with the girls adjustments. The girl got up brushing the dirt off her dress. "Eli, were leaving."
