Keep On Fighting

*with caboose and tucker*

"Hey, do you know what is taking Church and Tex so long?" Caboose asks. Tucker shrugs and replies saying, "I have no idea man." The two look off in the direction where Tex and Church went. "Maybe we should go check on them?" Caboose asks. Tucker nods in a hesitant manner and leads the way to the area that Church was dragged to by Tex.

After some travelling, Tucker and Caboose find Church in the cave that where the two lovers confessed. Caboose immediately runs to Church's side. "Tucker! He isn't awake, is he ok?!" Tucker comes down quickly and takes Church's helmet off, and puts two fingers down by the throat to feel for a pulse. Caboose let's out a relaxed and relieved sigh when tucker gives the ok sign that Church is still alive, then he notices the bandages on his chest, and a thin line of still oozing blood on his cheek. "Hey, Caboose, can you go stand guard for me at the entrance? Just in case the Reds come to attack while we are not at base?" Tucker asks. "Isn't Sheila there? She is a big scary tank lady, she can take them on." Caboose answers. Tucker sighs, stressing the fact not wanting Caboose to see Church hurt this bad. "Can you please?" Tucker pushes. "Fine, i will go watch for the Reds in the entrance of the cave." Caboose grumbles in response.

"What did that bitch do to you Church..." Tucker says to himself, as he puts the chest plate back onto Church's armor. He is gentle, as if not to wake his fallen friend, and teammate. Next, he heaves him onto his shoulders and walks to where Caboose stands, staring at a nearby rock, and sees a bug crawling on it. "Caboose, let's get Church back to base, ok? He needs to rest, he is very tired, that is why he isn't awake yet." Tucker tells the distracted Caboose. "Caboose, let's go." Tucker says again, as he walks away, and Caboose notices and follows closely behind, humming a made up and happy tune, despite him not knowing his partner is severely hurt.

Tucker sets Church down into his bed once the two, Caboose and him, get back to base with Church still hunched on his shoulders. "Caboose, can you fluff those pillows?" Tucker asks. Caboose nods as he fluffs Church's pillows and both of them gently lay him down. "I hope he wakes soon..." Caboose mutters in a forlorn tone. "He will..don't worry, we both know Church is tough, more tough then us both, so don't fret." Tucker says, then adds, "I bet he'll be happy to see you well though, so be happy remain positive." Caboose nods in a mute way and keeps gazing at his lover. Tucker gets up and takes Caboose to his room and Tucker goes to his own. 

As Caboose wanders in his room, he looks at the few things he was allowed from home to bring to Blood Gulch. A little drawing from his parents is laying by his bed, and he lets out a sigh, as he takes his helmet off. It was of him and themselves, smiling and having fun, when he was younger. "I miss you guys, and i hope you don't freak once you hear about my new partner..more then a teammate now.." he says breathlessly. He turns away from the picture and says to himself, "All that really matters as of now is that Church gets better, and that this war or 'war' soon ends here in the gulch." He just shakes his head and gets back up, and begins to pace the room, listening to the silence that is gripping the base.
