Jisoo's POV.
"Kim Jisoo.."
It was Jungkook. I quickly wiped my nose.
"Are you alright?" He asked as he came closer.
"Yeah, no worries. Ehm, see you." I started walking to leave him. To my surprise, he cut my path and handed me a handkerchief.
"Here." He said shortly.
Hesitantly, I took it and cleaned my nose and hand. His stare was making me uncomfortable. Didn't he hate me because of last night? But now, I looked at him, being awkwardly friendly. Out of courtesy,?
"Thanks. I'll give your handkerchief back after I wash it."
"Do you want to go home together?" He asked, his tone unsure. Taken aback by his offer, I choked on my breath. "It's dark already." He continued.
Indeed. Honestly, I was tired to walk home alone. But with him, would it be alright? I didn't know him. In the end, I accepted his offer. It was an awkward silence on the way home. I wasn't a chatty type, and he looked like a quiet type too. Twenty minutes passed, and we arrived in front of my house. I exited his car, and he followed me until we reached my front door.
"Thanks, Jungkook," I said. "Honestly, I was surprised. Don't you hate me?" I asked.
He scratched the back of his head. "I don't. I was in a bad mood last night. Sorry, I was rude."
"It was my fault, I was in a bad mood too. Sorry, Jungkook." I laughed. Looking at him closely, I realized his relaxed face, but his gaze was sharp if it made sense.
"Don't wander around late at night. Don't you know a criminal is wandering around in your neighborhood?" He informed. "It's on the news, and the authorities still can't capture him."
"Yeah, I know." I let out a sigh. "I wanted some fresh air."
My front door was opened, and Yugyeom came out from inside. He leaned on the door frame and glared at Jungkook. They looked at each other for a while until Jungkook turned his gaze to me.
"I'll leave. See you, Jisoo." He bid farewell.
_______
Yugyeom followed me to my room upstairs. He sat on the edge of my bedroom with folded arms. "How do you know him?"
"Him?" I took out my clothes from the wardrobe. "Ah, you mean Jeon Jungkook?" I looked at Yugyeom in the mirror. What's with the expression on his face? "I just know him from last night at the park. He was with his brother Taehyung. Why?"
"Don't involve yourself with them. I hear they are not good boys." He said sternly.
"Don't worry. I don't know them, okay?" I turned around to look at him. "Why are you here? My mom called you again?"
"No, I came to pick you up. The boys will hit the club, and they want you to come."
______
"I thought you wouldn't come." Jackson welcomed me with open arms. "It's better than staying at home tonight, right?"
Nodded, I agreed. "Where's Mark?"
"Second floor, he'll come back soon." Sliding the glass of whiskey, he winked playfully. "Enjoy the night, girl. I'll hit the floor."
Jackson and Youngjae walked to the dance floor, looking right and left, searching for a dance partner. I took a ship of whiskey Jackson gave me, and I enjoyed every taste of it.
"Take it easy." Yugyeom was eyeing me from my side. "You aren't planning to get drunk, are you?"
I chuckled. "Don't worry, I won't. Even if I want to, I can't do it." I waved at someone behind the bar. Yugyeom turned his head to see who I was waving his hand to. "I'll be back."
I walked down to the bar, and the bartender smiled brightly. "Goodnight, Miss Jisoo. It's been a while." He bowed.
I bowed back. "Goodnight, handsome." He laughed. I sat before him, watching him make a drink for me. "YoungK oppa, why you came out as bartender tonight? You are the owner."
He placed the drink in front of me, the classic Cosmopolitan. The refreshing yet simple combination of Vodka, orange liquor, lime juice, and cranberry juice washed down my throat. YoungK was a fantastic mixologist, and this one was my favorite.
"Mark told me you will come tonight, so I want to see you." He came out from the bar and sat beside me. "How are you? You look skinnier."
"Not at my best." I gave him a slight smile. "Oppa, can you persuade Mom? She will listen to you."
He narrowed his eyes. "Is this about you moving out?" He let out a sigh. "Jisoo-ah, I'm with Aunty this time. It's dangerous for you to live alone. You are still in high school. Uncle will be worried sick."
"But..I... You know." I looked down, looking at the glass of cocktail in front of me.
YoungK was my cousin. We have been close since I was little. We loved each other like we were real siblings. I wished we were siblings. He was sweet, the kindest human being I knew on earth. Strangely enough, my mom always listens to whatever he says. At first, my mom didn't want me to go to the club. She insisted that it wasn't a good girl to do. But when someday YoungK came to our house and reassured her that it would be okay because it was his club and he would take care of me. Then she said, 'Okay, you can go as long YoungK is in the club with you'. So here I was now, I could go out thanks to him.
Of course, YoungK knew what was happening in my family. The bankruptcy, the fight between my parents, and my being stressed out because of it."It will get better soon." He said softly. "Uncle loves you, and Aunty, he won't let you suffer for too long."
"I hope so." I stood up. "I'll go to the bathroom, oppa."
YoungK nodded. He left the bar station and went to Yugyeom's table. I walked to the bathroom. My head began to pound. Did I get drunk already? But I just drank a little, though. I opened the faucet, splashing the water on my face. I felt refreshed even though my head was still hurting. It looked like I was seeking trouble myself by coming here tonight.
I exited the bathroom, planning to ask Yugyeom to take me home. I was near the stairs when a boy grabbed my wrist. I looked at him, I looked at his face and didn't recognize him."Let me go!" I shouted. "I don't know you!"
He put his hand on my mouth and pulled me to one of the VVIP rooms. He closed the door and threw me on the sofa.
"Who are you?!" I asked him again.
He was wearing a hat and a face mask. His attire was in all black. This didn't look good. I was drunk, and I got trapped here with this psychopath. He got closer and pulled my long hair. I grimaced in pain.
"I'm your nightmare, Kim Jisoo."
I heard him right, right? He knew me, but no matter how hard I thought, I didn't know who he was.
"What do you want from me?" I asked.
"I want to watch you suffer." He said with venom in his voice as he pulled my hair harder.
I hit him in the face, and he didn't hesitate to hit me back. He pulled my body and forced me to stand up. My body staggered, and I held into his arm. He threw me against the wall this time. I felt my back hit the wall hard. I looked at him, and he was walking closer. I closed my eyes, ready to handle the blow. I was waiting, but I didn't feel his touch. I opened my eyes, and I saw an orange-haired boy hitting that boy, and another one was walking closer to me.
"Jisoo, are you okay?"
It was Jungkook. Again.
