Cassidy
The next day, Lauren and I went downtown to hang out a bit. Neither of us had enough money to go shopping, so we just went to a food court area. When I looked behind Lauren's figure, I saw them.
I closed my eyes and began to breathe in and out slowly. I tried to relax, but I knew they were coming and nothing would change that.

Anticipating an interaction of some sort, I slowly creak my eyes open. My eyes wander up the tall figure of Jaxon and Chris as they walk past our table. Jaxon looks over his shoulder at me and smirks, rolling his eyes in the process.
I could hear Lauren's words rambling on but all I could focus on was his presence. Jaxon wasn't even around anymore but I could feel a pair of eyes staring at me and I could tell they were his. I dared not to look back, afraid of his glare.
It was evident that Lauren didn't even notice the boys, as I could hear her wrapping up her story.
"It was definitely the funniest thing ever," she said, smiling to herself. I faked a smile as though I had been paying attention the whole time.
"What's wrong?" She asks as she analyzes my face. I've must've subconsciously expressed my inner intimidation and confusion onto my face. I blink a couple of times in attempts to rid my expression.
"Nothing, you ready to go?" I ask.
"Yeah, let's go looking around for things to buy when we actually have money," she says, a small laughter erupting from her chest. She gets up and heads in the direction Jaxon and Chris were walking.
I internally groan at her unknowing mistake. I slightly linger behind her, dreading seeing them again. No matter how hard I tried to ignore his being, he always found a way to make me think about him. The stare he gave me as he walked by seemed to be out of annoyance, but the smirk he gave me seemed like a result of entertainment. I couldn't tell if he and Chris were having an interesting conversation and my sudden appearance caused him a grave amount of rage, or if my presence was really sympathetically amusing.
We walk in and out of a bunch of different stores and we've still yet to run into them, thankfully. The anxiety builds up in me as I anticipate their arrival, causing me to constantly look over my shoulders.
"Ooh, let's go in here!" Lauren cheers, dragging me by my wrist into some clothing store. As soon as we're in the store, Lauren runs off to some random spot and I lose sight of her. Deciding she'll meet up with me in a few, I start to walk around the store. I notice a nice black, flowy, floral dress hanging from the rack. Dresses have never really been my thing, but this one seemed really pretty and fitting.
I grab the item and head to the counter, wanting to know if they hold items. Looking down at the dress, I smile to myself as I imagine myself wearing it. Once at the counter, I ask the lady working there if they hold items.
"I'm sorry ma'am, unfortunately, we don't," she says in a sympathetic tone. Disappointed, my shoulders sink as I prepare myself to shamefully walk back to the shelve. I thank her and turn on my heels, my sad eyes wandering over the flower detailing.
A couple of feet towards the direction of the origin of the dress, and I bump into a hard chest. The impact sends me stumbling back a bit.
"I'm so sor- oh..." the deep voice says. I look up and notice the deep, brown eyes of Jaxon Hood. He seemed apologetic until he saw it was me. In one hand he had his phone and a small pile of shirts in the other. I stood in between him and the counter, as the lady who momentarily assisted me called for the next person in line.
