If people were tied together by strings, ours was a rope tied and pulled so tight it split. Maybe we could tie it back together.
It rained today. It rained all month. Maybe these April showers would bring us May flowers.
April 27th, today, was a good day.
The math olympiad was today. The rain was distracting for me. Finally seeing you was distracting.
Turns out the Olympiad was at the school you told me you went to. I didn't remember at the time, though. I'd just gotten over you, or so I thought.
Across the room you sat. The glint of your eyes caught mine, but only a passing glance. I looked twice; did you?
You slipped from my fingers and out the door of the auditorium of your school, Silva Creek, which won (I think it was fixed). A city away from mine. Your name but a whisper on my lips, what I should've shouted across the room to get your attention.
Just when I'd thought you'd disappeared from my memory, here you are, crashing through the walls of my mind. You came in like a wrecking ball, and you wrecked me. But honestly, did I ever stop thinking of you? School was basically my only escape from thoughts of you.
No wonder I hate school.
