I crept around the corner making my footsteps inaudible as I continued down the long, grim hallway, bleak lighting showing the way.
I couldn't see the end of the hallway, every turn I made led me to a dead end. It was like it was a maze, twisting the mind, making intruders lose their way. I couldn't see any doors anywhere. My heart pumped harder and I felt my breathe quicken as I felt a hand cover my mouth and someone's breath tickle my neck.
"Don't make a sound. Not one."Drey's rough voice sent a shiver down my spine. My blue eyes flew wide and my breath came out hard as I felt his nails press into my cheek. I shook my head and narrowed my eyes at the brick in front of me. My dead cold arms seemed to come to life, reaching up and ripping his hands away from my face and shoving myself away from him.
I turned around to face him, anger flashing through me, my hands curling into fists and my mouth straight.
"Don't touch me."So many thoughts and emotions flew around behind his eyes. I caught flashes of amazement, hate, hurt, sadness, and something evil behind his black, dead pupils. He composed himself and covered the emotions with a thick, self-built wall, putting on a smug grin that made me grit my teeth. He raised an eyebrow, challenging me. He walked closer and I stepped back, feeling the cold wall hit my back. I mentally smacked myself for showing weakness and he smirked cruelly.
"You act tough, but obviously you still have a lot to learn. I could teach you." He smirked suggestively. I pulled back in revulsion. He was less than a step away from me.
"Well? Where is he?" He spun around with his arms out mockingly. "He couldn't be far. He would never leave you alone now. Aren't you two... destined?" Drey let the sentence linger with a scoff. I stared blankly at him.
"Who?" I asked, confused.
"Xander, of course." I sucked in a breath. His cold eyes narrowed and he took another step forward, his knees brushing against mine.
"Cause I wouldn't want him to miss this." His cold grin deepened. I pressed back as far as I can against the wall but he caught me and began to close the distance between us. I felt his hot breath on my face. I heart thumped as punched him in the chest trying to get him off me. He didn't budge - until I lifted my knee and rammed it into his crotch. His knees hit the floor as he doubled over groaning. I scrubbed my arm across my mouth and let him on the floor.I ran out of the corridor and searched for anything to get me away, adrenaline electrifying my veins.. I turned each corner and found myself in another dead end. I ran out again, catching sight of Drey, rage fuming off him. My eyes went wide as I turned another corner desperately.
Xander! I thought, urgently. I turned another corner to face yet another dead end. It was becoming hard to breathe though my fear and the musky air around me. I scrambled around another corner but stumbled back seeing Drey in front of me.
His face was red and there was absolutely no humor in his face, his smirk gone. He stormed towards me I took hasty steps backwards but he caught up to me gripping my shoulders and pushing me to the ground. I fell backwards and looked up at him as he loomed over me. My eyes were suddenly looking at his hands. Both were clenched into fists but it wasn't his fists that had my utmost attention. In his right fist gripped so tightly his knuckles were white was a gun. He shook with fury.
"Do you realize what you've done? You have no idea what I'm capable of." He stomped forwards and this time I stayed put, numb and unable to move. My eyes stung, tears threatening to emerge and a high-pitched ring echoed through my ears. He gripped my arms and lifted me up, digging his fingers in my arm bringing bruises to the surface of my skin. Fear grasped my heart in a fist as I saw the stubbornness in his eyes. My eyes flew wide as I realized what he was about to do. He pushed me back against the wall.
"Xander!" My voice rang out in a scream as I felt my head connect with the wall. I felt the cold run through me and everything went black.
