Chapter 11

Riley's POV:
I slowly opened my eyes, seeing beams of sunlight coming through the windows.

I leaned over to the side table to get my phone to check the time.

"Good morning." I suddenly heard a voice say.

I must've jumped a little because I almost dropped my phone on the floor.

"Hi Maya, you scared me." I said, redeeming myself.

"I've been here the whole time. I just couldn't sleep." She said, looking into the mirror from her phone.

I stood up from the bed to get my suitcase and my change of clothes.

This house was very nice, it even had a bathroom connected to the bedroom.

"You excited for today?" I said, opening the bathroom door and turning the light on.

I didn't hear a answer and I turned around to see Maya looking at me.

"I guess. Don't you think riding a bull is dangerous though?"

I turned back around to look in the mirror. "I don't know, but lucas hasn't had any accidents before. It should be fine."

I could hear Maya walking around the room, searching for something as I was brushing my hair.

I couldn't help but keep thinking about the note I had in my bag from Farkle.

I still think it was to maya, he just put it in the wrong bag.

I turned back around to face Maya and walked towards my bed. "So how's Farkle?"

"What about him?"

"The kiss last night."

"To start with, that was a dare and wasn't an actual kiss and second, I don't like him that way. I swear."

Before I could say anything, I heard a knock on the door and Lucas's voice.

"Hey guys, we are getting ready to leave in an hour."

I went to open the door and looked up at Lucas's face. "I'm so excited. You're gonna do great."

I leaned up to kiss him on the lips and out in the corner of my eye I saw Maya leaving the room.

"Where are you going?" I asked her, releasing the kiss.

"I really don't know...to find Farkle I guess." She then disappeared.

Maya's POV:
I quickly paced through the entire house looking for Farkle, but I couldn't find him anywhere.

Where the hell was he?

I then peered out the window and I saw him sitting out on the patio. Of course.

I opened the front door and closed it behind me, it making a loud squeaky noise as I shut it.

Farkle turned around and saw me, "hey what's up?"

I brushed my hair out of my face and sat down next to Farkle. "I'm not that good, honestly."

I then looked at Farkle. "I know this is probably really annoying to you but....I can't help it."

Farkle put his arm around me and said, "I know how you feel."

"You do?" I said.

"Yes. And you know I don't like like you, you're amazing but it's someone else."

I laughed a little, I think I was also really relieved to hear that.

After a moment of silence, I felt a thought suddenly cross my mind.

"Is it Riley?"

Farkle looked at me slightly. "What?"

"You heard me..."

Farkle sighed, looking in the distance. "Yes..."

I shook my head, looking back at the house. "We both like people that clearly aren't into us that way...."

I watched as Lucas was about to head into the arena.

He was actually going to do it. He was going to ride the bull.

I looked at Farkle who was looking back at me. "You're not gonna do it are you?"

I bit my lip, looking into the arena again. I've seen people ride bulls today but they were way older than us.

I looked back at Farkle. "Yes."

I then started running towards the area Lucas was waiting in.

"Lucas wait!!"
