The next weeks at the potters was very fun since most of the time the whole family came to stay over and play.
Rose and Albus were eating in the kitchen one day when they received their Hogwarts letters:
"Ugh! Already?" Albus complained as an owl soared through the window and landed right in front of them with a thunk. Rose rolled her eyes at Albus as she unfurled each  Hogwarts letter including Lily's and Hugo's.
"Yeah well it's no surprise. We will be starting school in September 1 and it's August 15 so..."
"I don't want to go!" Albus wailed as Lily came into the kitchen and squealed in delight as she saw her letter.
"Its here! It's here!" she cheered, getting Hugos attention.
"What's here?" he asked.
"Our letters!"
This caught his attention even more and he was quick to find his letter in the bunch and go running upstairs to tell Hermione. Lily did the same but towards Ginny. Rose sighed as she thought of the fact that her little brother would now be with her at Hogwarts.
"Oh I can't believe they have to come too!" Albus said.
"I know, well come on what books do we need..."
Rose excitedly opened her letter to find a new list of books and the same old rules.
"Well this year we need much more complex books" she said as she read " we will need a whole restock of our potion supplies, the standard book of spells grade 2, magical draft and potions and look a second year's guide to defense against the dark arts that should be cool!"
Albus grinned in delight as he thought of all the new things they would be learning this year but he was also filled with laziness since he hated having to do homework. At that moment Harry came into the room, holding a piece of parchment, reading it with his brows furrowed.
"What you got there Dad?"
"Oh well... I just got asked by Hogwarts to be your new defense against the dark arts teacher"
"What?!" the Weasley-potters all screamed.
Rose jumped out of her seat in excitement and went over to uncle Harry's, trying to get a glimpse at his letter.
"I can't believe it! It's true Albus" she told him.
"But dad what... how..when?!"
"This year apparently. It looks like the old defense against the dark arts teacher had to drop out last moment..."
Ginny entered the room and gasped as she saw Harry letter.
"Honey, are you going to take the job?"
The whole room turned to stare at him, waiting for his response.
"Well of course!"
Everyone cheered except Ginny who looked sad at the fact that she was going to lose her husband for a whole year. They all ran up to give a hug to Harry.

A week later Rose was getting ready to go to Diagon Alley to get her schoolbooks when she got a letter from Scorpius telling her that he was going to be there on Wednesday and that they should see each other. Rose immediately sent a reply letter telling him that of course, they were going to be there at 10 AM. Rose rushed downstairs, fully ready and told Albus about Scorpius.
"Really? Oh that's great then we can see each other in the leaky cauldron!"
Rose nodded, trying to ignore the look of confusion on her dad's face.
"Okay! come on everyone it's time to go" Ginny called.
"Does everybody have everything they need? For we will not be coming back!" Hermione said.
Everyone nodded as Harry stepped into the fireplace and yelled "Diagon Alley!". Lily and Hugo followed and then it was Rose's turn, twisting and turning to an alternate dimension of green fire and soon she found herself outside of Diagon alley's wonderfully enchanted street. She gasped as she saw bustling witches and wizards going about their business, people doing magic, owls flying through the sky and Gringotts looming at its center. It was such a magical sight for her. She waited for Albus and the rest of her family to arrive before they decided to split up. Rose and Albus would go by themselves, while Ron and Hermione would take Hugo to get his wand and Harry and Hermione would take Lily to get her robes. They agreed to meet up an hour later and so they set off with excitement, ready to get their stuff.
"Okay"  Rose said looking at her list "I think we should start by going to Flourish and Blot's"
Albus agreed before they continued to walk towards the store where they bought all of their new books and said hello to a few friends, then they went to Madame Malkin's shop because Albus needed some robes. He got fitted as Rose waited by the corner. She was playing with a few of her bracelets when she saw familiar faces peek through the window, it was Victoire and Teddy who were filled with shopping bags. Rose waved and that caught their attention:
"Rosie! how have you been?" Teddy said as he scolded Louis and Dominique for being too slow.
"Fine. How have you two been?"
"Oh we've been great! We're just taking little Louis and Dominique to get their stuff."
"Oh that's nice"
"Yeah..."
"I'm just waiting for Albus to finish getting fitted for his robes"
"Oh, the potters are here?"
"Yep"
"Oh in that case Victoire I'll catch up in a bit I just need to talk to Harry for a moment."
"I'll take Louis and Dominique for some ice cream in Florian's"
"Okay, sure! Save me some!"
And so Rose waved goodbye to Teddy and Victoire as her mind started to wonder why did Teddy want to talk with the Potters. Eventually she was snapped out of her thoughts by Albus who had just come out of the store with a new robe in hand.
"Well, what now?" he asked.
"We need to get some new potions ingredients and also I need to stop by the Emporium to get some treats for Lina"
And so they did, getting their new potions ingredients which seemed completely irrelevant to Albus. They headed towards the emporium.
"Hello!" they heard someone say behind them with a cheery voice.
They turned to look at who it was and discovered two young identical boys followed by Luna Lovegood who they knew as a family friend.
"Hi!" Rose said playfully as Albus stared at them in confusion.
"Luna! Lorean! Lycander!" Albus said, finally remembering them.
" Hello" she said calmly "they're  quite the troublemakers you know. I try telling them to wear charms to keep away from the Nargles, but they keep insisting that they aren't real! They're starting Hogwarts this year."
The two laughed and talked with Luna a little while longer before the twins became impatient and ran off with Luna following behind them.
"Oh! They kind of remind me of young Fred" Rose said.
"Yeah I think Fred's got some competition for troublemakers in the house! Oh and what are Nargles?"
Rose sighed as she remember the story that Harry had told her.
"Oh well Luna believes there are these creatures that are around you, invisible  called Nargles and apparently they're dangerous but if you wear certain charm they'll stay away... it's quite weird honestly because everybody knows the aren't real but she keeps talking about them in the Quibbler"
"Huh, she is a bit strange but I love her I think her nonsense is quite fun!"
Albus smiled as he thought about all those times where Luna had come to their family meetings and talked about all the weird creatures and adventure that she had with her new husband who is a direct descendent from Newt Scamander. A few minutes later they continued to walk towards the owl Emporium and got the food for Lina, after that they decided to head towards Olivander's where they had agreed to meet up with their family.
There was no doubt inside their minds that next year was gonna be a great year.
