╔══════════════════╗INDIANA JONES
xviii. YOUNG AND RESTLESS╚══════════════════╝
PAST
UNKNOWNTHAT NIGHT WAS A sleepless one for the young Indiana Jones. All the poor teenager could think about was the fact that someone died that night because of her. She felt rather hypocritical about her guilt-filled thoughts, considering she had assassinated dozens and dozens of people in the past. That was one of the big things she was known for, after all. But for some odd reason, Indiana couldn't wrap her head around this kid's death. She didn't even know him, for crying out loud! Indiana was really beginning to wonder if this whole adventure was even worth the trauma.
After her second run-in with the vicious Peter Pan, Indiana was beginning to wonder if she had met her match. Peter Pan, from what she could tell, was ruthless and cold-blooded, clearly not caring about anyone but himself. He was a villain.
Back in the Enchanted Forest, she was a--dare I say--villain, but with good judgement. The biggest thing that Indiana liked was that she didn't do harm onto those without a good reason. But was that golden rule really one she should be following? Indiana shook her head. Even if she didn't follow that rule and killed Frankie herself, she would've felt ten times worse than she did now. Either way, Indiana would've had that boy's blood on her hands.
"Psst."
Indiana snapped her head upward, only to be greeted by the faces of the sleeping Lost Boys. Yes, that was what Peter Pan chose to call his little minions. It was a creative name, but it made absolutely no sense to her. How were they lost? They were right there in the realm Indiana still didn't know the name of. Brushing it off, Indiana looked back down. Her eyes stared at the dirt ground as she attempted to keep herself awake.
She couldn't help but think about Peter's last words. "Let's play," – what did it mean? Of course it made sense that he wanted to play with her, to mess around with the girl who showed up at the wrong place at the wrong time. But what exactly did he have in store for her? Indiana had a feeling that she didn't want to find out, even if there was curiosity that was seeping through her veins. Actually, Indiana wanted to know. She just wanted to know with the guarantee that she would make it out alive.
"Psst."
That time, Indiana was sure she had heard something. She could've bet her life on it and won. Looking in the direction of what sounded like a voice, she noticed two brown and blue eyes staring at her. Indiana almost instantaneously recognized the boy sitting beside her. Her eyes nearly popped out of her head. "Fra—?!"
Placing his hand against her mouth, Frankie made breathing motions. She mocked them for the sake of him taking his dirty hand off of her mouth. "Keep it down, alright?" Frankie told her. When she nodded, he finally took his hand off of her mouth.
