Draco was my best friend at Hogwarts. From time to time we visited each others dormitories, and thank god we had never been caught.
One day I was sat in the common room, there was a few people in there but Draco wasn't. Where was he? I asked myself. He was probably at quidditch training, I sat there letting it slip my mind. Reading my book and listing to the crackling of the fire, sometimes I liked having time to myself.

I was minding my own business until someone had pushed my book onto me. "What the hell?" I shouted, being caught off guard.

"Sorry, didn't know you were that into books" Draco smirked.
"You caught me off guard, Malfoy"  I smiled, realising it was my best friend.
"Come up to my dorm, I need help with something" Draco whispered.
I nodded following him to the dorm.
We got into his dorm and I sat on his bed.

"So, what do you need help with?" I asked curiously.

"I found this book, I'm not sure what it is" he said quietly whilst handing me a diary. 'Tom Riddle's Diary' was engraved in gold.

"This is someone's diary Draco, where the hell did you find it?" I asked, not very amused.
"In the boys bathroom. It's blank and I never heard of a Tom Riddle attending Hogwarts" Draco said, scratching his head.
"Maybe it's a past pupil?" I replied, raising my eyebrow.

"Why would it be here now though?" Draco replied with a face of frustration.

"Not sure" I replied, not entirely interested in the situation.
"But look, there's nothing in it" Draco said whilst getting closer to show me.

"Weird. Lemme draw in it" I said whilst grabbing the diary.
"Get your filthy hands off my diary" Draco said, laughing.

"Tom Riddle's Diary, idiot" I winked whilst snatching it.

I quickly raced to his desk and grabbed a quill, I wrote "Draco smells" which slowly disappeared.
"Draco! It disappeared!" I shouted. Draco rushed over to me and new writing slowly appeared.

"Draco. Lucius' son. Correct?" It wrote back, my heart was pounding in my chest. Looking at Draco who was wide eyed.

"How do you know him?" I wrote back.
"Lucius was a loyal friend of mine, who is speaking?" The diary wrote.
"(Y/N) (L/N)" I wrote back. Yes stupid idea I know.
"Ah, (Y/M/N)'s daughter" the diary replied again.

"Who are you?" I wrote, Draco was panicking slightly. Pacing his room.

"Tom. Tom riddle, or as you may know me as the Dark Lord" the diary replied.

"Draco! It's Voldemort!" I said abruptly.
Draco's face turned pale, not speaking a word.

"Get rid of this now" I said, whilst shaking.
"I will" Draco replied.

Little did (Y/N) know, Draco didn't get rid of the diary and spilled out his hatred for Potter. Tom was becoming more and more  intrigued everyday, finding out new things about Harry.

*A YEAR LATER*
It had been a year since I had the encounter with Riddle. I eventually stopped thinking about it, but to this day I couldn't ever forget about it completely.

Draco and I had agreed to work on a transfiguration assignment, I paced by way to his dorm where he was more than happy to see me.

"Hey (nickname)" Draco said.
"Stop calling me that" you snapped, he knew you hated it.
I walked in and sat on his bed, which he followed. I pulled out my books and he brought his on the bed.
About half an hour later I moved and felt something sharp poke into my back.

"Ow what the hell is in your bed Malfoy" you muttered before pulling out the diary.
Draco's eyes went wide, he didn't know what to say.

"Draco? What is this? You said you'd get rid of it! It's been a year and you still have this stupid thing" I shouted, angrily.

"U-uh I- I just wanted to see what else it did" Draco said whilst stuttering.
"Draco! This is dangerous! I hope you haven't told him personal information about anything" I said crossing my arms.

"No" Draco lied. (Y/N) knew he was lying.
"Why do you feel like you have to lie to me?" I asked, in a hurt tone.

"Ok, I ranted about Potter" he sighed, hanging his head low.
"That could get him hurt Draco" I said quietly.
"I'm sorry" he said in sorrow.
