Humans have by far the most complex system for gender and what they deem "sexuality" of any species on planet earth; or in their entire solar system for that matter!
Sexuality, as defined by the humans, is what group each human feels attracted to. Humans attracted to the opposite sex are called "heterosexual" and humans attracted to the same sex are "homosexual". There are other variants, such as "bisexual" (attraction to both sexes), "pansexual" (attraction to humans inside OR outside the gender binary), and "asexual" (attraction to nobody) to name a few. It would take a lot of energy (that could be used for further study) to log a full list of every sexuality created by the humans.
Humans "discover their sexuality" around ages 12-17. The parental units typically do not approve of sexualities other than Heterosexual. It would seem the older a human is, the more narrowminded they become. Humans liking different humans doesn't seem to matter survival-wise, so it is a mystery to me as to why the parental units see it as a problem.
(Side note: it usually ties into the aforementioned "religions". Some humans' religions condemn humans being attracted to another human who is not the opposite sex.)
Genders are arguably more interesting! Humans have taken to a website (page on the "internet" that humans use to link to each other) called "TUMBLR". On tumblr, humans can make up any sexuality or gender that they wish and force people to accept it as a real thing. If they do not, they are condemned by the other tumblr humans.
Tumblr has succeeded in producing the most random and useless "genders" on the entire planet. According to Tumblr humans, gender and sex are two different things. They believe gender is "mental" and sex is physical. Therefore, genitalia does not have to match what a human feels like their gender is.
However, this has been taken rather to the extreme. There's a gender for almost anything and any situation. I would say there are more genders than humans, but with the humans currently approaching 8 billion in population size that would be a largely false statement. It is still a very funny thing to think about, and a highly amusing hyperbole to log here.
Some humans even change their gender/sex, called "transgenderism". Some humans simply dress as the opposite sex (And some male humans dress as females for fun. This is called "drag", which stands for "Dressed as a Girl") while others pay thousands of human currency to actually have their genitalia changed and hormones of the opposite sex put into their bodies.
In conclusion, humans sometimes lose track of what is important and focus on seemingly random subject matter and put all of their energy into it when there is no war; producing strange concepts such as this one. What will the humans come up with next?
