It was a cold winter night and snow was falling harder than ever. I was kicking back relaxing behind the steering wheel of my cheap Honda civic car which i bought off a friend for 400 bucks. it was an easy steal. Paramore was blasting from the stereo and i was aggressively munching on a pack of wild berry skittles; my favorite. I looked back and noticed my little sister Lana laughing uncontrollably at something i said almost choking on some skittles in her mouth. This caused me to stifle a laugh. These were the moments that mattered the most to me, moments with just me and her. No social workers, no dead beat foster parents, no cops, no nothing. Just us being young and free spirited. But sadly that's not reality, reality is Lana and i had a great time ice skating at the rink. But now the sun has set and reality kicked in, we have to go back. But we try to take in these moments as much as we could, i sometimes smile for her sake because she's just 5 she doesn't deserve this. She doesn't deserve no memory of her parents because they died in a plane crash when she was just 3 months old. She doesn't deserve having no other living relatives other than me; an awkward 17 year old girl who doesn't know what she wants from life and listens to way too much music.

"Arya can we go ice skating again tomorrow please?" i heard her high little voice chirp from behind me. I smiled at her through the rear view mirror before answering,

"sure love. Maybe this time i won't fall on my butt again" this caused her to laugh out loud once again. i grinned before popping another skittle in my mouth.

i continued to drive swiftly on the road nodding and smiling through the rear view mirror at whatever Lana was going on about, we were about a quarter mile away from Wickery bridge which was up ahead when we noticed a black SUV driving in our direction very dangerously. It was curving all over the place in jagged lines. If i didn't know better i would've said that was a toddler driving. I sat up straighter in my seat and took precaution as i tightened my grip on the steering wheel.

"Why are they driving all over the place?" my curious little Lana asked pointing to the car that was speeding in our direction. I swallowed hard before answering.
