                            Prologue

          Caley Armstong. How does one describe Caley Armstong? Some would say she's a bitch. Others might say that she needs to be in a mental asylum. For a while she thought that too. But no. Caley Armstong is a 17 year old girl who went through too much a bit too early. At the age of six her brother, Caleb, was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal brain cancer and cystic fibrosis. When they found out he had that he had about six months to live. And at six years old, your brother missing your seventh birthday was a big deal. Caley and Caleb were close as a six year old and a fifteen year old could get. He would do everything for her. He basically helped her through every single boy that pushed her on the play ground. When he died she had no friend anymore. Her mother thought that it would be a good idea for her to get away from everyday six year old life a go visit her dad over the summer. She hasn't seen her dad since she was two. She went to her fathers house over the summer and met someone. That special someone's name was Derek Hale. Caley's dad, Jonathan, and Derek's mother, Talia, have been friends for years. There for Derek and Caley spent a lot. A lot of time together. They began to be close. Considering that Derek was four years older that Caley, he became a brotherly figure to her. He kinda helped with her brother being gone. They had been through thick and thin together. When the summer ended and Caley went home they talked on the phone. And during summers Caley went back to Beacon Hills, California. At 8 years old Caley was at school when her mother died in a car accident on September 4, 2004 at 12:34 am, Candice Armstong died. It was the worst thing that could ever happen to her. She had no mom anymore. Her dad came up to New Jersey, for her mothers funeral, and then to pack her things and help her move in with her father. When her father got to New Jersey she was at her Grandma's house. What Caley wasn't expecting was for a 12 year old Derek Hale came with her father to help with everything. It was so nice to be her brother again. They had the funeral and moved Caley to Beacon Hills. Caley's dad decided to keep her out of school for a year because he didn't want his daughter to be known as the "girl that's only there because her mom died". And within the year that Caley was out of school, her dads job moved them up to Washington. Bad. Very bad. She missed Derek so much. But they talked nearly every single day and it helped a little bit. Caley went to school in Washington and it didn't look like anything was going to change. She only visited Beacon Hills once and that was for the funeral of everyone in the Hale fire. She stayed there for 2 weeks to help Derek. Then she had to go home. And continued with her life.
