It's been a few days since I have talked to Derek. After finding out that the Alpha was Peter, and after the fight Peter told Derek some lie about how he didn't want to kill Laura and Derek believes him like a big idiot. I had texted Lydia the next day telling her that I will be attending the mall with her and Allison to look for a winter formal dress.
I was sitting in my room listening to music when I got a text from Derek.

From Derek:

Baby, please, talk to me.

I rolled my eyes and hit delete. I sat my phone on my night stand out it on charge.
I listened to music until I started to fall asleep. I stared at the ceiling as my eyes drifted closed and darkness took over.

-------

I groaned as I was being shaken awake. I looked up to see Stiles and Scott hovering above me.

"What the hell do you two want?" I asked as I sat up and rubbed my eyes.

"Come on." Scott replied and followed Stiles out of my room.

I sighed and got up and walked over to my closet. I grabbed a pair of ripped skinny jeans, a gray crop top and a white knitted scarf before walking to the bathroom.
I changed and threw my hair up in a cute messy bun and brushed my teeth before doing my makeup.
I walked back to my room and slipped on a pair of tan flats.
I grabbed my phone and purse as I made my way downstairs to see Stiles and Scott.

"Where are we going?" I asked as I followed them out to Stiles's Jeep.

"We are gonna follow Jackson. The Argents think he is the beta." Scott replied.

Why do I have to be apart of this?" I sighed, getting comfortable.

Scott didn't reply and just continued to watch out for Jackson's car.

We pulled into a vacant parking lot to see Jackson was talking to Chris Argent.

"Yo." Scott waved as Stiles said, "what's up?"

"Is everything okay?" I asked as I poked my head between Scott and Stiles.

"Hey Scott. Your friend here was having car trouble. We're just taking a look." Chris replied simply.

"There's a shop right down the street." I pointed behind us. "I'm sure they have a tow truck.

"Yeah. You want a ride?" Stiles asked.

Scott opened his door as I scooted over making room for him. "Hey, come on, Jackson. You're way to pretty to be out here all by yourself." Stiles chimed in.

Jackson nodded and started making his way over to the Jeep and I watched as Chris took something from Jackson's car.

"Hey boys." Chris called as he made his way to the driver's seat of Jackson's car. He turned the key in the ignition and it started up. "Told you I knew a few things about cars."

Chris shut the door and walked to his car before getting in and leaving.
I waited until he left before I got out of the Jeep.

"What, are you following me now?" Jackson asked.

"Yes, you stupid freaking idiot. You almost gave away everything right there." Scott seethed.

"What are you talking about?" Jackson questioned.

"He thinks you're the second beta." Scott said.

"What?" Jackson's face contorted in confusion.

"He thinks you're me!" Scott yelled and hit Stiles's Jeep.

"Dude, my Jeep." Stiles whined looking at Scott.

"I can hear your heart beating from a mile away, literally! Now he thinks that there's something wrong, and now I have to keep an eye on you so he doesn't kill you, too!" You could tell he wanted to punch Jackson but instead he went to punch the Jeep again.

"Woah, woah, woah, okay, okay, okay.  How about we just step away from Stiles's Jeep?" Stiles grabbed Scott before he could do anymore damage.

"You know what, this is your problem, not mine, okay? I didn't say anything, which means you're the one that's gonna get me killed, okay? This is your fault." Jackson shoved Scott against the Jeep.

"Can we stop hitting my Jeep?" Stiles asked once again.

"Yo, all right, yo, guys, stop. All right? I could be doing something better with my day, but instead I'm head with assholes." I shoved them away from each other, tired of their arguing.

"When they come after you, I won't be able to protect you. I can't protect anyone." Scott said looking at me and Stiles.

"Why are you looking at us?" Stiles asked.

"You know what? Now you don't have to do it. Get me what I want, and I will be fine protecting myself." Jackson suggested.

"No you won't! Just trust me, all it does is make things worse." Scott replied.

"Oh, yeah, really? You know, you can hear anything you want and run faster than humanly possible. Sounds like a real hardship, McCall." Jackson shook his head.

"Sometimes being human is better than being anything you can imagine." I sighed as I got back in the Jeep and looked at my phone.

----

I decided to just clear my head at the gym and forget about all of this.
I changed into a pair of shorts, a sports bra, a pair of socks, and a pair of black Nike running shoes.
I opened the front door just in time to see Allison about to knock.

"Hi?" I questioned a little confused on why she was here.

"Hi, I- um, is Scott home?" She stumbled over her words.

"Yeah he's upstairs if you want to go on up." I replied before moving out of the way and letting her in.

I shut the door behind me once I was outside and head for the gym. I was lifting weights thinking about how simple life used to be when mom was still around.
I stopped when I heard my music shut off.

"Who the hell?" I yelled and started walking toward my phone.

I walked up to the person to see it was Derek. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to see you." He replied walking closer.

"Doesn't your uncle need you to be his little errand boy?" I asked watching his every move.

"Keegan, please listen, I'm only standing by his side to keep you safe." He sighed.

"I can take care of myself." I rolled my eyes.

"No, I am not gonna sit around and watch the love of my life die because I could have saved you when I had the chance." I yelled and grabbed my face in his hands. "I love you Keegan and if it means that I have to abide by Peter's commands in order to keep you safe, by god I will do just that." And with that he smashed his lips against mine.

I opened my eyes to see he was no longer there. I placed my finger tips to my lips and sighed.
