Chapter 4

A few days had gone by and Adalia had not heard anything from Kieran. She hadn't seen him at college, he hadn't replied to her calls or texts, it was like he'd just disappeared. She was getting a little worried, she thought everything had gone perfectly when they went out, she thought he liked her, she couldn't think of a reasonable explanation for where he might be.

The next day in her English class, Adalia looked to where Kieran would usually sit, it was empty.

It went on like this for a few more days and she was getting more and more worried about him. She continued to call and text, even went past his house a few times, which he had pointed out the night they'd kissed. There was nothing, he'd just gone.

About a week later Adalia was walking to her locker when she saw Kieran stood at his. He didn't look his usually charming and flirtatious self, he seemed tired and his eyes looked like he'd not stopped crying for a month. As she approached, his eyes locked onto her, he looked startled, a little embarrassed. She waved at him and gave him a friendly smile but he just averted his eyes to the ground and hurried away.
" Kieran, wait!" Adalia called after him, but he just carried on walking away, with his head facing the ground. Adalia stood confused and taken aback by Kieran's actions and his worn out exterior. He'd never been like that before, it was like he was a completely different person. Adalia had no clue what she should do, she couldn't even comprehend what had just happened.
