Chapter 5

A week later...

''Where in the van do you want this box?'' asked Lexie, as she kicked her foot towards a box that read Books.  '' Next to the other boxes that read Books'''sighed Meredith as she lifted an heavy looking box from the ground. They had packed all of Meredith's stuff yesterday, at her old house and were now moving it to the two moving vans. '' I still can't believe you are able to move into your new house within a week'' stated Lexie, as she grabbed another box. '' Me neither, but the owners were already moved out, so she said i could get in within a week'' replied Meredith, as they walked up to  the van with two boxes.  '' I think this was about it'' stated Meredith as they walked into the now empty house. '' You've checked every room?'' asked Lexie, as she checked all the kitchen drawers. '' Yeah, but let's just check one last time'' sighed Meredith, they walked through all the rooms one last time. They exited the house after their last inspection, and sat down on the front porch. '' I'll visit you, as often as i can'' smiled Lexie as she placed her hand on Meredith's knee.  '' Ah, it's only 3 months, before you'll be able to get a job at the hospital, we'll survive'' chuckled Meredith. '' But i have to get going, the van drivers want to leave'' stated Meredith as she stood up. They hugged each other, and Meredith headed to her car. She waved one last time before starting the engine and driving away.

She arrived at her new home, three hours later exhausted and wishing to just sleep. But she couldn't. She had to move all her stuff in first. She got out of her car, and greeted the two drivers of the vans whom carried her stuff. '' If we can just move my bed upstairs, we can move the rest into the living room'' suggested Meredith. Both men nodded and opened the van doors. Both suddenly, a white van stopped, and a lot of people jumped out. '' Surprise !! Did you really think i was going to let you move in Alone'' chuckled Lexie, as Derek, Owen and Cristina appeared behind her. '' Oh wow!! Thank you all so much'' exclaimed Meredith excited. '' What can we do?'' asked Derek and Owen stepped forward. '' Uh...  the bed, it has to go to the first door on the left upstairs'' stated Meredith. Both men nodded before walking up to the van. '' You two can get boxes, the boxes are labeled with the rooms they have to go to'' stated Meredith. 

And finally after two hours of moving, they were done. Every box was put in the right room, and the larger furniture was all set. '' Miranda is dropping Emma of in 10 minutes'' stated Lexie, as she put her phone away again. '' I still can't believe Miranda wanted to watch over Emma'' chuckled Meredith as ate some of her salad. '' Yeah, she mentioned something about it being good company for her son'' shrugged Lexie. '' Oh by the way, Cristina. Thanks for watching Emma, for the weekend'' smiled Meredith, as she turned to her best friend. '' I could say thanks, but i could also say that Owen spend most of  the time with her'' stated Cristina with a smile. They all laughed.

Emma woke Meredith up that next morning, in the form of jumping on her bed. ''Good morning '' groaned Meredith as she sat up straighter, '' Mommy, can we unpack the stuff in my room first'' squealed Emma. '' Sure honey, but mommy needs some coffee first'' sighed Meredith as she climbed out of bed. Emma followed Meredith down the stairs and sat down on a box as she watched Meredith pour her coffee. Meredith tried to drink her coffee as quick as she could because Emma was getting impatient. '' Let's go'' smiled Meredith, Emma quickly ran upstairs excited as Meredith followed her.  They entered Emma's room, and Meredith opened the first box. '' Are you sure you need help with this?'' asked Meredith, as she opened another box. '' No, i can do it myself'' nodded Emma, as she placed her three favorite stuffed animals on her closet.  '' I'm in my room unpacking, if you need me'' smiled Meredith as she placed a kiss on Emma's forehead. Meredith headed to her room and opened the first box of clothing, she continued to unpack the entire day and when she was done unpacking upstairs she went to check on Emma's progress. Emma's room was done, but Emma was sleeping soundly in her bed. Meredith smiled, as she closed the curtains and left the room again. 

She sat down downstairs on the couch exhausted. She grabbed her e-reader, clicked a random book and read for a while.

Meredith woke up at 5'o clock that next morning, got dressed and rushed to work. '' I am exhausted'' sighed Meredith, as she changed into her scrubs. '' Me to'' said Cristina. '' Grey, Yang and Kepner. Need you in the ER. Car crash, multiple victims'' stated Miranda as she entered the resident locker room. The three woman put on their lab coats and rushed to the ER.  '' 12 year old girl, possible head injury. Also has bleeding in the stomach, and a dislocated shoulder'' shouted the paramedic.  '' I'll take it'' shouted Meredith as she rushed up to the girl.  Meredith went into a room, followed by Miranda and Owen. '' Okay i need an echo '' shouted Meredith, an echo was pushed into Meredith's direction. Meredith placed the echo on the girl's stomach. '' Blood in the belly'' nodded Meredith. But then suddenly the machines started making loud noises. '' She's crashing'' exclaimed Miranda. '' Crash Cart'' she added shouting.  '' Charge to 200'' said Meredith as she placed the paddles on the girl's chest. '' Nothing'' sighed Miranda, '' Charge to 250'' shouted Meredith again, '' Still nothing..'' sighed Miranda.
