The girls woke up the next morning limbs tangled together smiling at each other.
"Mm this feels so amazing being here next to you"
"I know I wish we didn't have to go home today, but hey we're only going to be 1,762 miles apart" Maddy said sarcastically.
Aly pulled her in closer loving the feeling of their bodies against each other. Aly kissed her forehead and said "Let's just cherish these last moments we have together before we leave"
"Mmkay but I'm gonna miss you"
"I know Mads I'm gonna miss you too I wish we didn't live so far apart, but I promise I'll come visit soon plus I'll see you every three weeks for training"
"You better I don't know how long I can last without seeing you"
The girls laid like that taking in the last moments they would have together for a long time. Eventually they got up, packed their suitcases and met the other girls downstairs in the lobby. Everyone was excited to be heading home to their families, but Aly and Maddy knew that heading home to their families meant being nearly 2000 miles away from each other. The girls jumped into a taxi heading to the airport and headed towards international departures. They boarded the plane and took their seats Aly by Maddy. Laurie and Simone sat behind them and were already giggling before the flight left the gate. Aly was exhausted and almost immediately after the flight took off leaned over and fell asleep on Maddy's shoulder. Maddy couldn't get herself to fall asleep because her mind kept wandering
'What if my parents don't approve'
'What if the fans hate us'
'I don't want to tell anyone yet but what if Aly wants to'
'What if this ruins Aly's career and I'm the reason'
Aly stirred next to her and groggily asked what she was doing still awake.
"Nothing Al's just go back to sleep you need it"
"Okay but we can talk about whatever's bothering you when we get home cause I know something is"
'Damn how did Aly always know when something was wrong' she thought to herself as Aly snuggled back up against her. The flight seemed to never end for Maddy as the thoughts continued racing through her mind 'What if Aly won't want to be with me if we don't tell everyone'
Finally the plane landed which couldn't have came soon enough for Maddy. She shook Aly as the captain said they were starting their departure. "Ugh do I have to get up already"
"Come on Als"
"Please just five more minutes I'm tired."
She decided Aly deserved some sleep plus she loved the feeling of Aly close to her and she knew she wouldn't have that feeling much longer. Maddy slowly drifted to sleep for the last 10 minutes but was woken quickly as Laurie snapped a picture of the two and yelled "gotcha" as her and Simone chuckled loudly. Aly slept soundly though that too and didn't wake up until the plane touched the ground.

The gymnasts all got off the plane in Los Angeles and were all headed in different directions towards their domestic flights home. The girls hugged and said there goodbyes as everyone rushed to their gates leaving Maddy and Aly alone one last time.
"Mads come here" Aly embraced the younger girl and whispered that she still wanted to talk about what was bothering her. Maddy half smiled as they let go of each other knowing there was still press around.
"Well I should get going I guess, my flight starts boarding in 10 minutes" Aly said.
"Wait Aly come here" Maddy said and held her tight once more. "Thank you for everything Aly, I'll see you soon." The two walked in separate directions towards their gate both happy to see their families but sad to leave each other.
