Going back home (sans age 17)

I helped papyrus pack his things I was only taking my hoodie and my blanket with me but paps wanted to take everything of his so I helped him pack it all up. So basically what happened is Grillby found out we weren't dead and bought our old house he paid off the mortgage and came knocking on our door one day when papyrus was at school. He hugged me and I was so surprised to see him we talked for a long time he told me what he did and told me that he was giving the house to me and papyrus. He got up to leave and just handed me the house keys I asked him what we were supposed to do about food and everything else he told me I could start a 'tab' at his place but he wouldn't make me pay. I cried a lot that day after he left but it was because I was happy it wasn't because I was sad my soul glowed bright green my eye to I didn't think I could do that anymore. Green meant I was happy and I haven't done green since my mother died. I was seventeen now so the monster adoptive service wouldn't be able to try to take papyrus from me so I guess it's safe to stop hiding. Papyrus is twelve now he likes to play outside in the snow he even sneaks off to snowden to play in the snow so he is happy we are moving. The king has checked up on me a few times throughout the years he gave me a job as a judge a few weeks ago I mainly deal with criminals who have stolen or murdered people. It's an easy job all I have to do I check there levels question them if there guilty I ruff them up and put them in the jail under the castle it's a job I can use my magic for and not get in trouble for it. It pays ok but not enough to sustain me and papyrus both so I take care of papyrus keep him fed and clothed teach him right from wrong. As for myself I will be fine grillby is gonna let me eat for free so that will be a huge help. For the seven years I have been living off of ketchup which suits me just fine.

After getting papyrus packed up I call grillby on a cellphone I found in the garbage I plan to give the phone to papyrus on his next birthday but for now I can use it.

"Hey Grillbs can you come help me move some of this stuff"
"Of course sans I'm on my way"
"Thanks Grillby"

After twenty minutes goes by Grillby is there he helps me carry the old green couch I found at the dump and dragged here when papyrus was ten. Papyrus was so excited he jumped on it and slept on it for the next few days. Papyrus carries his box and we walk all the way to snowden through the snow and everything. When we finally get the couch into the house Grillby has to leave to go back to the restaurant. Everything is exactly how we left it the kitchen is the same the table is there the fridge is there I plug it in and it works the stove is still there and working the sink is there. Papyrus says he's gonna make the sink bigger ans I laugh and tell him to go look around to choose a room. To my surprise he runs upstairs and goes straight to my old room he runs around it and looks in my old closet where some of my old cloths are still hanging he jumps on my old racecar bed and lays on my old blue carpet. I have to hold back tears I lean against the door and tell him.
"This used to be my old room it's pretty fitting that you have it little bro"
He looks at me with huge eyes and says.
"I-I GET TO HAVE IT....THE WHOLE ROOM?"
I laugh and nod he has never had a room of his own the shack was just one big room that we both shared.
"Yeah little bro this is all yours I have a room of my own right down the hall and downstairs is ours to everything in this place the whole house is ours"
He jumps around and I can't help but chuckle at him he pulls his stuff out of his box and lays it on the floor he puts four of his action figures on my old drawing table and hangs up his black skull flag on the wall and puts a few of his books on my old book shelf he only has his school books and fluffy bunny I took fluffy bunny from the library.
"Hey papyrus I have some cash from my job and there's a shop in town wanna go there and see if we can get something for your room? a nice lamp or a picture maybe even a computer if I have enough"
He jumps down from the shelf and hugs me.
"REALLY BROTHER COULD WE? WAIT WHAT ABOUT FOOD YOU ALWAYS SAID FOOD COMES FIRST"
I chuckle and shrug.
"I'm taking you out to eat tonight that nice man that helped is move his name is Grillby has a restaurant in town and we are gonna go eat there tonight. I'm gonna get you your first ever milkshake your gonna love it."
Papyrus is so excited he runs around his new room and jumps on my old bed and then dose it all over again. I go to our parents old room there giant bed is still there but the sheets and everything is gone I spread my blanket over it and kick my slippers off. There the same slippers I wore on the night me and papyrus had to run he's almost as tall as me now and I'm not growing anymore it's probably from only drinking ketchup. I lay down in my parents old bed and it still smells like my mother and my father I close my eyes and smile all my troubles melting away at once.
"It's gonna get better now"
I whisper and I end up falling asleep
