The whole car ride back home was filled with a heavy silence, as my mother fought to think of something to say to defend her sin and I couldn't shake the thought out of my mind that my mother could do something like this. She lied to her family and cheated on her sworn husband - my dad. And not to get all religious on you, but I'm pretty sure this is a sin and I think - excuse me, I thought - my mom was better than this.
Once we reached back home, and ignored her and made my way to the hallway. "Wait, Karen, I can explain. Just hear me out."
I slowly turned around, tears threatening to fall out of my eyes, "What, mom? You want to explain to me why you were having sex with someone other than dad? You lied! You're supposed to be at Hawaii right now. And you cheated and lied far enough to leave this house just to go bang some stranger?"
"I know you're disappointed, but dad and I aren't on the best of terms anymore. We tried to keep it from the two of you for our safety as a family, but obviously, know you know. Just don't tell any of this to your brother, okay. It will crush him too," she pleaded.
"Does dad know you cheated? Because I'm sorry, but you did a pretty shitty of keeping it from me," I turned to go to my room, but then turned back to express one more bit of my thoughts, "And by the way, I won't tell Cody. I don't want him to know our mother is a dirty, lying, cheating bitch too." With that, I left her.
Just as I was about the open the door to my room, she said, "Karen, please."
I slammed the door behind me, "I hate you forever, mom" Wow, I was really good at being a bitchy teenager. But my mom deserved it. God, I really hated her right then.
Once I was in my room, I texted Cody.
K: hey, you still at the party? Mom's home from Hawaii early.
C: shit akredy yaaa teel moo im tt josdk hsse (a/n that's supposed to say 'shit already? yeah, tell mom I'm at Josh's house')
K: Omg, you're so drunk! Ugh, fine. I'll cover for you. But you SO owe me later.
C: Hey, it's Josh. Yeah you're brother is wasted and me being the Designated Driver and all, not so much. Anyway, he'll be at my place, k?
K: Yea, sure, whatever.
"Mom! Cody is at Josh's tonight, okay?" I yelled. I talked to her for my brother. He doesn't know about this whole mess, and I don't intend on him knowing. So, therefore, I will still be on speaking terms with my mother. God, I must love you, Cody.
It was now 12:34 AM and a car beeped outside, meaning that my dad just came home. It never occured to me how he can easily be cheating too, but he had the excuse that he was a doctor and had to work in the ER sometimes. Well, time for mom to come up with some excuse - ahem, lie - why she is home early from Hawaii.
Not wanting to hear any of their conversation, I spared my ears, brain, and heart by falling asleep.

I groaned as my drowsy self realized my alarm was beeping and it was morning. Grabbing my phone off the bedside table, I turned it off and went to 'messages' to text Annie.
K: Wake up. Need to talk. Now.
A: What? I have a massive headache right now so make it quick.
K: This one won't be quick. Mom cheated.
A: Wait, wtf, did I read that right?
K: I think so... I said my mother cheated on my father.
A: WHAT?! Okay, come over to my house.
I walked to Annie's house, which was a couple blocks over. Since I came over so often, I knew where the spare key was hidden, unlocked the door for myself, and quickly went up to Annie's room.
As soon as she saw me, she flung up out of her bed. "What happened?" she said, with a look of concern painted on her face.
"I don't know, okay. I left the party early with Cody's friend and he took me to his house. Jason, he said he texted you?" she nodded and I continued, "We heard... you know, sex noises outside one of the rooms and my mom's name was being moaned. Ew, I know. But, we went in and she was, like, all Victoria Secret robe-d up and the dude- Jason's dad- was half naked. Scarring, really."
"Oh. My. God. You're mom is having sex with Cody's friend's- Jason's- dad? That would make such a good story." Oh yeah, Annie's a writer. Like, a really good one. She runs school newspaper and every summer she has an internship at the city newspaper.
I slapped her. "What the hell, Annie? You do know that you are not telling anyone. Not Cody. Not Jason. Not anyone. Let alone the whole fucking world!"
She smirked, "Okay, first of all, don't slap a girl with a hangover. And second of all, I was just kidding. God, Karen! Trust me, okay. I know what your going through must be hard and I will be there for you."
"But what am I supposed to do?" I whined, "I can't tell Cody, dad, or anyone for that matter. How am I supposed to hate my mom while acting like I love her and keep in that she is lying to us and cheating on my father?"
Annie blinked at me, "Honestly, I have no idea." I frowned at her, but she continued, "Look, Karen, you're going to have to tell your whole family sooner or later because technically you're swooping down just as low as Theresa by keeping this very important peice of information."
I groaned. "But it's just going to hurt them and hurt us as a family! What if mom and dad divorce? What's supposed to happen to Cody and me? We're just like lost kittens or something in that situation!"
"Nothing! Nothing, Karen. But you have to tell them soon, okay. They are just going to get mad at you too if they find out you kept this from them and it's going to hurt your family even more."
I sighed, "Why is life so confusing? What do I do?"
"You know what, you seem like you had a rough night. Just go get some pizza and ice cream or something. Just relax and we'll think about it later."
"And you, wise one, need to relax too."
"Kay, skidaddle."
"Bye. And by the way, I guess you give pretty good advice for a hung over fifteen year old."
She smiled, "I know."

Done, yay! I know it's a little filler-ish, but I think it's alright. Maybe needs editing? Anyway, I hope you likeeee!
Sorry if text messages in the middle of the story are annoying.
Also, the whole story isn't about her mom cheating, just so you know.
