After about another 15 minutes of talking on the way to the beach, we finally arrive and it's pretty empty for the most part. Only a few people scattered here and there. I start walking towards the shore when Grayson calls me.
"Wait Presley, I have a place I want to show you." He says and I look at him curiously, and speed up so I'm walking next to him again. Grayson seems to be heading toward the woods... should I be afraid this is all some plan to like murder me? We all know how that ends.
"You coming?" Grayson calls back to me and I realized I had stopped, lost in thought. Pshh. There's no way I'm dying tonight.
"Yeah, sorry." I reply and catch up with him again. Not too long later, we exit the woods and come out to another part of the beach. There's absolutely no one here and there's a long dock going off the shore. It seems to only be a few feet above water. Aside from that, I notice the natural beauty of the place. The small waves rolling onto the beach, the bright blue sky. This would be the perfect place for a beautiful picture.
Grayson starts up the dock and takes sits down at the end of it. Then he looks to me and pats the spot next to him. I walk over and sit down next to him, giving us about a foot between where we're sitting. Then, he takes off his sweatshirt he had been wearing and sets it behind us with his camera on top of it.
"I like to come here to think or just relax. Not to mention it being the perfect picture spot." He says and glances sidewards to me. I nod and take in a deep breath, enjoying the atmosphere of the beach.
"No wonder. This place is just so...." I say, trying to think of the right word to describe such a wonderful place.
"Fascinating." Grayson answers my sentence and I glance at him and nod in agreement.
"Yeah, definitely." I agree and look out into the distance. The sun seems to be setting, which must mean it's late afternoon....already? I check my phone and realize it's 6:30. "It's 6:30 already! We'll probably miss dinner." I reveal and Grayson looks at me slightly shocked at the time but recovers quickly.
"Yeah, time usually goes quick out here..." He says and looks back out to the sunset. "Oh and by the way my mom won't be home tonight since she had to fly out to Texas for a business trip. She'll be home by tomorrow afternoon." He finishes and gives me a sideways glance.
"Oh alright, well I guess we won't have to worry about missing dinner after all." I reply while closing my eyes and breathing in the salty scent of the beach.
"So... what are some other things I don't know about you?" Grayson asks and I look over at him.
"Umm...I don't know. What's something you'd like to know?" I ask and he looks at the sunset thoughtfully. Then he looks back at me with a smirk. Oh lord.
"Are you ticklish?" He randomly asks me and I laugh from the question.
"Hmm... no not really." I tell him and he grins.
"You sure about that?" He asks and I nod.
All of the sudden his hands stretch out towards me and he starts tickling me. I burst out in laughter and squirm trying to get out of his reach. I push him off of me but he barely budges and continues to tickle me. I push again and this time I'm successful, but while doing so I push him off the dock.
I sit up and look down in the water. For a few seconds I can't see Grayson and I start to worry. Then, he pops out of the water and has a huge smile on his face.
He should really smile more often, it really looks good on him. I think to myself and my cheeks become a tinge red from it.
"You're lucky I set my camera down!" He exclaims and I realize I totally forgot about the camera. I grab it quickly and before he can do anything I take a picture of him in the water, smiling.
