10 Days Later

Koda

I couldn't wait any longer. I had to see her. I'd been waiting for long enough. No one would know and no one would be told. If word got out he had broken the oath, he would be disowned by the pack, and left a lone wolf. Which is why no one would know and no one would be told.

I was on the road again. I had 20 moons to find my way home. I figured that would be enough. I was just heading into the woods when a heavy pitter patter echoed through the trees. The pitter pattering turned into clumsy thumps, drawing ever closer. Leaves crunched loudly and I froze.

That smell again. The same one from the cave that I called my den. Drawing closer and closer.

Thump, thump, thump, thump.

Images of the huge paw prints etched into the dirt flooded my brain.

Thump, thump, thump, thump.

The raccoon carcass.

Thump, thump, thump, thump.

The smell.

Thump, thump, thump, thump.

Those noises outside my cave.

Thump, thump, thump, thump...

The name hit me like a raging bison.

Koda.

A big, heavy body slammed into mine and I found myself tumbling across the forest floor with a familiar wolf.

"KODA!"

"KIARA!" We nuzzled each other ferociously, both of our tails wagging so hard it hurt.

"540 moons without you and I found myself herding squirrels!" He barked.

"540 moons without you and I found myself chasing marsh chickens!" We both laughed until our throats were sore.

"Wait, Koda, this is breaking the oath. We could be sacrificed to Fauna if anyone found out!" I whisper-yelled.

"Which is why no one would know and no one would be told." He whispered back with his playful green eyes and lopsided smirk.

Jasper

I was heading home from serving my time to Fauna when I spotted furball and outcast having a little fling. WHICH, by the way, was breaking the oath. I crawled inside a nearby bush and watched them.

Oh, Alpha Kovu is going to love this!

As the two lovebirds were laughing it off, I snuck past them and bolted away, hopefully getting way ahead of them so I could tell Alpha Kovu.

"And so I was wandering around, and as soon as I got to the top of this huge hill, I saw a herd of elk! But before I could grab one, this grizzly bear scared them all away, so I had to eat mites I found under a log-" Koda was interrupted by a flash of black and gray rushing through the forest. It was a Nighthowler and a small, female Shadowclan wolf.
