Dominance: Betrayal

We were almost there, I could practically see my den. I pushed myself to run faster, and Koda and Serabi followed. I ran faster, pushing myself harder. Faster, faster, faster, Wham!

I tripped on a log and it spurred a domino effect! I fell face first causing Koda to trip over me and fall, and Serabi to fall, making a pile of laughing wolves. Laughing but determined wolves.

"Oh my Fauna! Great job Kiara!" Koda laughs.

"Oh my Fauna is right." said a familiar deep voice. My ears went down guiltily and my tail did the same.

"I'm so sorry Alpha Kovu! We were trying to get to you fast and I got distracted! You see my mind was on the Humans in white cloth, who by the way, we need to get rid of and-"

"Kiara, that's enough!" barked Alpha Kovu.

But I didn't listen, "and about the Nighthowler's that have apparently gone what everyone calls 'rogue' over by the Moss Forests-"

"Kiara! Silence!" He barked again.

I still didn't listen. My tongue could barely keep up, "First we need a team of wolves to follow us to the Humans in white cloth, which Serabi said was at the Mossy Falls. And, yeah, this is Serabi, we rescued her from a rogue Nighthowler, which by the way is very terrifying! Then we need to defeat the Nighthowler's who have been kidnapping Alliance members gone rogue and we need to find out why-"

"SILENCE!!!" He snarled. I yipped in surprise and my ears and tail went down again.

"You will get no team of wolves," he said behind gritted teeth, "you will defeat no humans in white cloth, and you will save no Alliance members gone 'rogue' because you and pretty boy are going to be SACRIFICED TO FAUNA!"

The word sacrificed hit me so hard I couldn't breathe. I noticed Stripsniff, now known as Jasper, trot to the Alpha's side but I couldn't react.

"Jasper here is the one who turned you in," Kovu said with a very sly smile. I looked at Jasper and his eyes were filled with tears. He clearly had not meant for this to happen. He mouthed the words I'm sorry before I looked back at the ground, " he caught you breaking the oath you swore your life on. It's funny how betrayal works, you know? Sometimes the people you could trust the most are really the people you could trust the least," he turned to the guards next to him with mischievous eyes and mouthed the words take them.

I looked at Koda who had eyes glazed over and nose twitching ferociously. White foam oozed out of his muzzle and a lowly growl emitted from him. The slash marks on his face throbbed. Before the guards could touch him, he attacked...
