•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••SKYLER'S POV••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

~Blood, every where I look nothing but blood. It covers the grasses, leaving not a spec of green to make its presence known. It splashes up the trees, drowning out the splendid greens of the full leaves, it drips down the trunks and pools at the bases. For what seems to be miles, red is all that I can see.

Here I stand alone in a sea of blood, hope has become a foreign word. We the rebellion lost it long ago, when we lost over half of us. It was as though the hope flowed out of us, like their blood flowed from their veins and stained the once fertile earth.

There is only a small handful of us left, and a smaller few still willing or able to fight anymore. I drop to my knees as I pray to the goddess, "I don't know where to go from here, there isn't anyone left to fight beside me, and there is so much left to do, so many left to free. Goddess I need your help to save them, without you the battle is surly lost, and we can not lose. Humans and supers alike will fall at the feet of HIM, and I can not live if that comes to pass."

Looking up and praying for just one small sign that she heard me and would help, help before it was to late. When no sign came from above I scan the dead and blood soaked horizon. That is when I see it, it is either my salvation or my damnation, and I have begun to think I would be okay with either one, so long as the pain stopped. Was this it? Her sign?

Stumbling up to my feet I approach, whether it be damnation or salvation, it was mine~

Jerking upright I find myself wrapped in a pair of warm, but unfamiliar arms. Turning my head slowly I look into a striking pair of obsidian eyes. The eyes alone answer my question. "Uh Severin, why am I in your lap?" I shakily ask as I attempt to raise to my feet. Stumbling slightly I'm reassured when his arms wrap around me and steady me before I can fall. "Thank you, now could you answer my question?" "Oh well I could love but I would enjoy some answers from you to" he boldly replies.

I walk across the room until I reach the window and stare unseeing into the blackness beyond the window. "Sure, you go first. Why was I in you lap?" "Because you passed out when your vision started, now tell me why and how did you push me out? I was right with you for most of it, and then all I saw was darkness." Severin says.

I turn and face him as I run my hands though my hair and pulling before releasing the strands to fall back down. "I don't know how I did it. I wasn't even aware you were there. Honestly I didn't know I was there. It was as if I was even myself. I had so many thoughts and feelings that I have never had. I have never had a vision like that before! They have always been as though I was dreaming, but this, it was like I was living it!" I was so close to crying. With just one look up at his face I felt the dam break and before I knew it I was falling to the floor sobbing like it was going to save us all.

After a eternity of sobbing I heard the shuffling of feet, and felt a presence next to me. It was as though Severin had never seen a person cry. I could feel his awkwardness though our link. "Stop crying, it was just a damn vision." Was he for real right now? All I saw was death and he really wants me to stop? I look up at his towering form standing over me, and kept help but start screaming at him. "What the hell is wrong with you? You saw what I saw and still your untouched by it? You are so cold, so heartless! You stand there like your better than me. Why? Why do you feel like its okay to make me feel weak for feeling the pain, the pain of death that will surround me. Surround all of us. The isn't any hope of coming out of this untouched, we will all lose someone who means something to us, the world to us. How can you not care?" It wasn't until I finished screaming that I realized how out of character that was for me, I even swore, and I never swear. All of this is already taking a toll on me.

Severin squats down next to me and grips my chin in his hand, forcing me to look into his eyes. "If I let death tear me apart ever time I saw it then there would be nothing left of me. I have been alive for 3000 years. I have seen more than my share of death in my lifetime. The only thing that could break me now, after all of these centuries, is if I lost the only two people that matter to me, and it is because of them that I am standing here now. So do not presume to know me. I am not who you think I am child, and I don't like being made to look as though I am heartless. I feel just as you do, as everyone does, but I do not have the luxury of letting others see it. Now stand up and go get cleaned up. You have a busy day tomorrow."and with that he stood to his full height and walked out of the room leaving me sitting on the floor staring after him.

============= TIME PASS ================

After a sleepless night I find myself eating nothing more than a biscuit as everyone else stuffed their faces with the full breakfast set out before them. I can't stop seeing the landscape from my vision, and I know that I will never be able to shake it for as long as I breath.

"We will need to get you training if you want to be able to control your visions, unless you enjoy the surprises?" Gosh Severin truly is a butt head. "Yes I love the way things are, please can we just leave it as is, you know it's amazing to see only death!" I stand from the table and storm out of the cabin as I hear silverware falling upon plates in my wake.

I know I won't be left alone for long, so I do the only thing I can think to do. I run, as fast as my legs would take me, shedding my cloths as I go until I am naked. I shift to my coppery wolf as I leap over a large fallen log. I can hear the soft passing of paws behind me so I push myself harder. After what feels like hours I can no longer hear the paws and I k ow I am truly alone. Running just a little further I come to stop in a very small clearing next to a gently flowing brook. I lay down beside it and stare into the almost still water at my reflection. Staring back at me was a small coopery wolf, with green eyes. Nothing special, so why did everyone else seem to think I was? They were willing to follow me anywhere, even to their own deaths, and there wasn't anything I could do about it.

I don't understand their blind faith in me. I don't even think I'm capable of this so why do they? I yearn for a quiet life, one where I don't find myself leading a rebellion. So lost in my thoughts I don't sense the presence approaching me from behind until they were already upon me, and it was to late to react.
