A/N : Hello this is my first fanfiction I hope you enjoy it. Once things really start to happen you will realize if you have watched American Horror Story that this is similar to the first season. Many and most things will be different but there are a few things that I have used in this story in my own way. I hope you enjoy!
The day progressed as it always did, I attended all my classes like I usually would, wrote down all of my assignments and when they would be due, then walked over to the coffee shop, books in hand, for my study session. The coffee shop was pretty much empty as it always was except for the few students that were studying for classes just like me. When I walked in the woman standing behind the counter, Lacie, was pouring a cup of coffee greeted me with a warm smile.
"Small coffee, decaf, three sugars and cream just for you Emma. On the house." she said and reached over the counter to hand me the coffee.
I nodded and took it in my hand while smiling a great deal instead of saying thank you. When my books were finally settled on the table and my mug was sitting in between my legs I began to search for the pages I was going to study, and that's when he walked in. He walked in with such ease and looked at the floor until he reached the counter.
My eyes were stuck staring at every feature of his. The way his beanie rested on his head a bit low, his curls poking out of the side, his green eyes accompanied with a piercing on his brow, his lips lush and pink with another metal object stuck through his skin.
"Medium coffee, decaf, three sugars and cream please." he reached for his wallet and Lacie's eyes shot up and were directed towards me.
"Is there a problem?" he asked calmly.
"No, I'm sorry what's your name young man?"
"Harry." he said with grace.
He left the money on the counter and took a seat at the table directly across from me. It seemed that he payed no attention to the fact I kept looking at him, but indeed he payed attention to every action I made that night. I tryed to flip pages in books so it looked like I was focused but my mind was scattered. Lacie handed him his coffee and tried to make some small talk with him there wasn't such a tense presence in the room.
"So do you go to Penn State?"
"Yes." he didn't ever look at her.
He seemed to be focusing on something far away but I just couldn't put my finger on what it was. His eyes narrowed a bit and that's when Lacie decided to walk away from him. I've never seen him around the college considering I go there, he must be a new student or live at one of the fraternity houses. Frat parties weren't really my styles so I never went to one, although I'd heard many stories about fights and girls losing their virginitys to the members of the frat. My ex-bestfriend lost her virginity to a member of the frat, they were playing a game of truth of dare and it kind of went downhill from there.
I took a sip of my coffee which began to develop a thin film on top of it that I always enjoyed even though others had a hatred for it. Focusing back to my studies I heard the lad named Harry mumble something. I looked up desperate to see if he was talking to me and it seemed he was, his eyes were focused on me, and when I looked up at him he smiled.
"Are you talking to me?" I asked quietly and tried to smile hoping that he would do the same.
"No, I was speaking to myself." he chuckled and his eyes wrinkled.
I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not so I just put my head back down and decided to not even try engaging in activity with him. I had already embarrassed myself enough trying to get his attention. Why did I even bother trying to interact with other people, I would only humiliate myself with the lack of social skills I had. Everything that came out of my mouth seemed idiotic.
After countless minutes of reviewing one concept I decided to look up and see if Harry was still there, and he was except without his coffee. It seemed like he was waiting for someone or something. I checked my watch because I had a strict schedule for my sleep and study time, well I intended too even though I never really followed the schedule. It was 10:00 which was time for the shop to close. Harry, Lacie, and I were the only two left in the coffee shop so I began to pack up my books so Harry would help Lacie close up. Just as I got up and headed for the door Harry followed and opened the door for me.
"Thank you." I whispered loud enough for him to hear.
"You seem cool. Maybe we could meet up for some studying here sometime?" he asked seeming confident I would say yes.
"Uh, sure." I said walking in the direction of the campus.
"Do you need a ride back to campus?" he asked while getting in front of me.
I nodded and he took me by my hand leading to a black car. I wished I knew what type of vehicle it was but I never really learned about cars. My father was more of the quiet golfing dad. His hands reached for the passenger side door and motioned me inside. As he shut the door he smiled through the window at me and trotted over the the driver side.
His smile was something I could stare at for days. The way his eyes wrinkled and his dimples caved in immensely brought me such a sense of safety.
"I'll drop you off at the front." he said while driving down the road.
The way he pieced words together flowed so smoothly like natural raw honey seeping out of the hive. The drive was quick and no one talked the entire ride but there wasn't any awkwardness. I hopped out of the door and shut it gently but with enough force to close it correctly.
"Well, I'll see you around. I never caught your name. What is your name?"
"Emma." I used the same smile that I used on him in the coffee shop.
"Emma, sweet. Well gotta run. See you around."
I watched his car slowly disappear down the road and a little part of me disappeared with him.
