A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait. I got busy with personal stuff. But I'm back. And I hope to get the other three up. But this one is on my favorite baby panda; Yugi! ^-^
Thanks to all who have read this story so far. Hopefully, it will get better. And done faster. So, I hope you enjoy!
You start walking to the shop up ahead when you see it up close.
It was colorful and very inviting. 'Hmm, this looks interesting. And Evie said I should look around this place. Well, one little peek couldn't hurt.' You thought. So, you decided to go in. You open the front door and there was a high sound above you.
RING!
It was a bell.
"Ooh, another customer!" You heard someone chipper say. You look up to see an old man with a long sleeved collared shirt and green overalls. He also had a black bandanna covering his unusual gray spiky hair with bangs shaping his face. And he had amethyst eyes.
"Hello! My name is Solomon Muto but you can call me Mr. Muto. Welcome to the Kame Game Shop!
"Um ... hi." You spoke, sounding more like a question.
"So, what are you looking for exactly? Board games, video games, we have them all!" He exclaimed, waving his arms up and around. You raised a brow at his quirkiness. But, you have to admit, you were interested.
"Well, I'm not sure really."
"Oh. Not to worry. My grandson can help you. He loves all kinds of games! I'm sure he can help you find what you like. Yugi, come down here please!" He called out to the other side of the room where you saw a staircase leading up to the second floor.
"Coming!" Another voice called back. It sounded younger and happier.
You looked on to see someone else coming down the steps. It was a boy, around your age. And he struck a similar resemblance to Mr. Muto. He had spiky, star-shaped black hair with amethyst tips and golden yellow bangs framing his face but he had the same eyes, only rounder and bigger. He also wore a blue school jacket, a white collared shirt, tight jeans, sneakers and a small choker around his neck.
He looked up to see you staring at him and he blushed pink, his eyes widening a bit. You looked away but you had a small smile on your face.
"Um ... w – what is it, grandpa?" He stuttered out.
"Yugi, this here young lady needs some help. I was hoping you could show here around, help her find something nice she might like."
"M – Me?" Yugi squeaked out, blushing again and even sweating a bit. You grew curious as to his behavior, even though you found it kinda cute.
"Yes you! As for me, I'll be handling a few boxes that need to be unpacked in the attic. If you excuse me ..." Mr. Muto trailed off, walking behind the counter and going upstairs.
So, it was just you two. You and Yugi. You saw Yugi still being fidgety. You decided to break the ice.
"So, your name is Yugi, huh?"
Yugi looked up to answer, still nervous. "Hmm? Oh – oh yes. Yes, it is. W – What's your name?"
"It's (Y/n). (Y/n) (L/n)."
"It's nice to meet you, (Y/n)." Yugi smiled at you. You smiled back. "So, uh, shall I show you around, and – and help you find something you like?" Yugi asked. You nodded, smiling more. "Okay!"
Yugi then showed you all the merchandise they had to offer. Board games, video games, even card games. Many were games you never even heard of. That's when you saw a shiny small package. "Hey Yugi? What is this?" You pointed at it from behind the glass case. Yugi looked to see it and his eyes got big and excited.
"Oh that? Why, that's a Duel Monsters packet! And that's one of the new ones we got this morning." Yugi explained. You raised a brow in confusion. "Duel Monsters? What is that?"
Yugi's eyes got even bigger and his mouth dropped. "What?! You've never heard of Duel Monsters?" You shook your head for no. Yugi gasped dramatically and suddenly, his nervous demeanor went away and was replaced with the ecstatic, happy behavior of a little kid. "It's only like the best card game ever created! It's a game where you get to use all kinds of monsters, spells, traps, fusions, and so much more! It's really fun to play, especially as you get the hang of it. I mean, how could you not know about Duel Monsters?" Yugi ecstatically spoke then asked.
You realized that you were not from this new world so of course you never heard of the game before. And yet ... it sounded familiar to you. But your mind was kind of fuzzy so you couldn't quite place it. You answered him carefully. "I'm ... not from here. I'm from a very far away place. And we don't have Duel Monsters there."
"Oh. Well, maybe ... you would want to try?" Yugi asked, mentally hoping that you would say yes.
You figured 'Why not?'
"Sure. I'd love to." Yugi smiled, showing his round cheeks and a hidden dimple. You giggled and Yugi blushed a bit pink. Then, you remembered something. You were broke! "But I ... I don't have any money."
Yugi's face dropped some. "Oh. Well ... that's okay. But when you do, you can come back and get it then." You nodded. "But until then, would you maybe ... want to look at my deck? That is, if you even want to," he spoke, murmuring out the last part. He wasn't even sure you would be interested. After all, you just met him.
But, you couldn't help feeling sad for Yugi. To you, he seemed like the kind of person who was shy, wasn't very social and was nervous yet sweet. He seemed nice to you; very nice, so the best thing to do was be nice to him in return.
"Sure Yugi. That would be great!" Yugi perked up and grinned.
"R – Really?" You nodded. "Wait right here. Let me go get it."
Yugi ran upstairs and you waited for like two minutes. Then, he came back again and you saw a black deck holder attached to a belt. He set it down on the counter, opened the flap, and pulled out a huge deck of cards.
"Wow! You really do play the game, do you Yugi?" Yugi smiled shyly.
"Um ... well yes. It's really fun. And besides, I am ... kind of like ... a pro at it." You were surprised. "Wow!"
Yugi blushed pink again. Yugi then went through his deck until he found the one he wanted to show you. "Here! This is my ace card. The Silent Magician." You awed at the sleek card. Yugi explained its power, special abilities and more. Then, he went further by explaining to you all about Duel Monsters; the different types of decks, the rules of the game, and so much more. You were very interested in the game and if Yugi was into it so much, then pretty soon you would be too.
Pretty soon, it was sunset. You both noticed it. "Oh, it's getting late. I should get going now."
"O – Oh. Okay." Yugi sounded disappointed. He was really having a good time talking to you. You felt the same thing.
"Tell you what, how about we meet up against tomorrow?" Yugi liked the sound of that.
"R – Really?" You nodded.
"Yes!"
"Well, great!" You were glad to see Yugi happy again. It made you feel good inside. Yugi walked with you to the door. "Well, it was nice meeting you, (Y/n)."
"Same here, Yugi." He opened the door for you and you thanked him. "Well, good-bye."
"Bye." Yugi waved at you and you waved back. He closed the door as you walked to the center of the city where Evie was waiting. But you secretly hoped that the day would end quickly so you could see Yugi. You two instantly hit it off. You already saw him as a potential friend. And he was kinda cute – okay, make that really cute.
You smiled, imagining Yugi's smiling face. Later, you ended up in the heart of the city, ready to find Evie ... and your temporary home.
A/N: So, I really am glad to get this done. Now, on to the other three. The next one will be on our sexy pharaoh; Yami. ;) He's my favorite one, in case you didn't know.
So, review, tell me what you think and until next time, see ya later!
