Jack stirred in his bed, and opened his eyes. He shifted, and felt that the other side of the bed was empty. Jack sat up and looked around the room. Mark wasn't there. Jack stood up and looked down at his arm. It was still wrapped tightly.

Jack opened the bedroom door, and he heard rustling downstairs in the kitchen. Jack stumbled down to find Mark in the kitchen making breakfast. "Mornin'." Jack said quietly. Mark turned to look at Jack, and he smiled. "Hey Babe!" He said, walking over and kissing Jack's forehead lightly. "How'd you sleep?" Mark asked cheerfully. Jack frowned. "Fine. You?" He responded. "Good. So today I was thinking we could go into town and just hang out." Mark said. Jack hesitated, sitting down. Mark was completely happy-as if the previous night hadn't happened. "Um...Sure. Yeah." Jack said. "We don't have to if you don't want to." Mark said quickly. "No, yeah that's fine!" Jack said. "Awesomeness." Mark said, smiling widely at Jack. Mark carried two plates of food over and set one in front of Jack. Jack's stomach was in knots. He had no appetite whatsoever. But Mark had cooked for him-He couldn't just not eat it. Mark sat next to him and the boys ate their food.

"I'm gonna go brush my teeth." Jack announced after setting his plate in the sink. "Brush them down here." Mark said, not looking up from his phone. Jack sneered. "No." He said. "Jack. Brush them down here." Mark repeated. "No, Mark. I'll be five minutes. I need to get dressed too." Jack said. Mark sighed deeply. "Fine then. Let's go." He said, standing. "Go where?" Jack questioned him. "Bathroom. So you can brush your teeth." Mark said, gesturing upstairs. Jack frowned, laughing. "I'm a grown man. I can brush my teeth on my own, thank you." He said.

Jack knew what Mark was hinting at, and he didn't like it at all. "That's cool. Now let's go." Mark said, walking. Jack stood in his way. "No. I'm doing it on my own." He said. Mark looked at him. "No, you're not." He said. "Yes, I am." Jack said, quickly feeling his anger rising. Mark was completely calm-which pissed Jack off even more. "Fine. Then brush them down here." Mark said. Jack stared at him. "Your choice." Mark added. "Fuck you!" Jack said loudly. Mark blinked. "I gave you a choice." He said. "I'm not a fucking kid Mark! I can brush my teeth on my own." Jack said. "I'm not leaving you alone Jack. Now come on." Mark said, starting to walk past Jack. "Stop! Just-Stop." Jack said. Mark quickly turned around. "What?!" He yelled. Instantly, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Jack. I gave you the options. You refuse to pick one, then I'll pick for you. Let's go upstairs." He said calmly. "No!" Jack said. "So now you wanna brush your teeth downstairs?" Mark asked. "No!!" Jack yelled. "Then what do you want?" Mark asked. "I want you to fuck off!" Jack said, running up the stairs. Mark ran his hand through his hair frustratedly. He hurried to follow Jack.

Jack slammed the bedroom door shut, pacing. Mark opened the door. "Jack." He said. "Get out Mark." Jack said, facing away from the door. "Jack, I'm sorry. I just don't want to leave you alone." Mark said. "I don't care. Just go. I'm fine." Jack said, his voice low. Mark sighed, and walked closer. "Sean..." He said. Jack kept his eyes closed. "Sean, look at me." Mark said. Jack turned around. "What?" He said flatly. Jack looked at Mark, and his anger faltered a little when he saw the desperation and worry in Mark's eyes. "I care about you." Mark said. Jack rolled his eyes, and tried to walk past him. "No. Stop!" Mark said, grabbing his arm. "Jack. I care about you. I want you safe. I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe. I made that promise to you a few years ago-Remember?" Mark asked. Jack thought for a moment.
