At midnight, Sanyukta walked into her house silently. When someone switched on the lights and asked her to stop, "Is this the time to come home?" her dad scolded.

She was not scared. She never will be. She was a spoiled brat. "I think it's fine in New York," she argued with her father.

"How many times should I remind you, Sanyukta? We are Indians. We belong to India. This is not our culture," her father explained with frustration. The sentence had been repeated for the hundredth time, but not once had she listened.

"Oh, so that's the reason why we visit India every ten years?" she replied with sarcasm, bitterness dripping from her words. "That means I have visited my country twice, out of which I remember only the second visit," she added with a raised eyebrow.

"We don't visit India on a yearly basis because we can't," he replied. "We are settled here. We both are working just to make your future secure." His eyes were watery.

"Another lie spotted," she smirked and dashed inside her room, leaving behind her broken father.

Sanyukta doesn't sleep early. She never liked to sleep. Not because she was a vampire, but because the night always inspired her. Like a magnet, the beauty of the night attracted her. For people who knew her, she was a heartless and insane creature, and just like a white color, she was useless to her family. She was a white color that needed a black paper to make perfect art. Maybe this was the reason; this white color finds comfort in the black dark night.

In the morning, while having her breakfast, she got a call from an unknown number. Pressing the red virtual button was her first thought, but involuntarily she clicked on the green one. "Sanyukta?" the voice said, shaking a bit.

"Yes," she replied, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Ran... The photographer here," he replied. "I emailed your photographs," he said in one go.

Sanyukta jumped from her chair and grabbed her laptop as fast as she could. Once she opened the email, again a big smile formed on her face.

"Thank you," she replied just when something struck her head. "From where did you get my number?" she asked with an arched eyebrow, a disgusting expression struck on her beautiful face.

"Facebook," he replied. "If you liked the pictures, do accept my request as a token of gratitude," he stated confidently.

With this, Sanyukta hung up the phone, which was quite normal and expected.

"What does he think of himself? I am photogenic; it's normal; every photo of mine is beautiful and unique," she said, lifting up her imaginary collar.

She logged into her Facebook account and received a notification of Randhir's request. She wanted to click on the remove request button, but the abnormal behavior of her mouse opened his profile. She was lost in his photos. He was handsome and unique. His mesmerizing eyes made her heart flutter, but her ego made her ignore those butterflies, just like the previous day.

She accepted the request and immediately logged out in an attempt to avoid any unnecessary conversations.
