I was in a room, or so it seemed, shrouded in darkness yet I felt as if I were wreathed in flames, as if my flesh were melting off and then there was the pain yet when I screamed no sound came out; I had had a nightmare like this once.
Standing in the dark room all I could think of was escape yet no matter how far I ran the darkness never ended. Finally ahead I saw a light, or was it the flicker of a flame? Bursting forth I was suddenly in a room surrounded by mirrors and Xander was reflected in all of them looking at me sadly then turning his back and walking away.
"Xander!" I screamed but still no sound and he just kept pulling further and further away.
Running forward I ran through the mirror only it wasn't glass it was an extremely cold liquid, so cold that it took my breath and now not only could I not make a sound but I couldn't breath! My body began to tremble violently as the sound of a gong began to fill my ears, at first it was soft then the sound grew louder and louder until it was deafening.
"Francois! She's waking, Francois!" Xander's voice called but it seemed from so far away.
Suddenly, cutting through the loud gong there was an even louder gush of air as I felt my body pitch forward and I started to cough and sputter.
"Freya." Xander whispered but it sounded like a shout as my hands shot to my ears and I cringed.
Xander rushed to me and I was sure he was moving inhumanly fast but to my eyes it seemed he was merely briskly walking each foot fall sounding loudly on the stone floor. As we came face to face I found myself mesmerized by his face, I saw fine lines now where I had seen none before, creases at the corners of his mouth, crow's feet at his eyes and the finest speaks of grey through his dark hair. Leaning forward I inhaled his breath, it had intoxicated me before but now...I crushed my mouth to his and I realized I had just moved no real thought had gone into it. His lips were eager and hot!
"They're so hot." I whispered and it was yet wasn't my voice each word seemed enunciated clearer than ever before, crushing my lips to his again I ran my fingers into his hair; it was like silk in my hands and on my wrists tickling.
"I'll umm...come back." Francois muttered and turning my head I looked at him, his age I could truly see now and all the charms that came with it and suddenly I was in front of him and reaching out I touched his face; his hair had more grey than I had initially thought and his chin held stubble I'd never noticed before, "M...Mi'lady?" he questioned, and lunging forward I hugged him I was so glad to see his face again, but not as glad as I was to see Xander.
At just the thought of his name I found myself by him again my palms itching to touch him as the door closed from behind me. Climbing into Xander's lap I crushed my lips to him before and he respond as he never had, grabbing my waist he forced me roughly beneath him his hands more eager than they'd ever been.
"I can't break you now." he growled, I felt a searing heat gather in my loins but a sound intruded, a baby's cry.
Shoving him off top of me I was at the door in a blink my hand on the knob only for Xander to grab me tightly around the waist.
"No." he growled, "You cannot go to him yet."
"Move Xander." I growled back which caused his eyes to widen a haze slipping into them.
Shaking his head he frowned, "N...no...you cannot go to h...him...he's part human and Amelia and Yvette are with him." he stuttered out.
"So help me if you do not move Xander I am going to hurt you!" I snarled and when he didn't move I grabbed him and shoved him violently out of my way, he went flying across the room his head cracking off the stone wall dazing him.
I was out the door and down the stairs halfway before he reached me and I found Francois in my path.
"That's quite far enough Mi'Lady...please...do not make me get rough with you...I do not wish to disrespect you ." Ignoring him I tried to flee past him only to be grabbed and drug back up the stairs and into a room I didn't recognize; there were no windows and only the one door in this room.
"Let me go to him!" I snarled, prepared to take them both on it seemed.
"If you go to him now as you are you could severely harm him, not to mention the damage you could do to Yvette and Amelia." Xander growled flitting to me and wrapping both arms around me; "Soon, I promise."
Something else in the room moved, a musty smell registering in my mind along with a burning in my throat. Xander's arms slowly released me as my eyes skimmed the darkness to find something large lurking in the shadow; the heat in my throat burned hotter as my muscles seemed to coil. My muscles released as I landed on a warm, fuzzy body my teeth sinking in the taste of the blood spurting into my mouth was displeasing but it eased the burning sensation.
In the dark I found a second animal and then a third and final one with each one the burning subsided and something in my stomach eased, leaning against the wall I sighed contentedly feeling gluttonous.
"Come on Princess." Xander chided as his arms slipped behind my back and knees, I cuddled into his warmth feeling drowsy; did vampires get sleepy? "Yes, we can get tired, but you're just feeling the blood work in you." he muttered; I was glad he could still evidently hear my thoughts, "Tomorrow, I promise you can see them tomorrow." he whispered in my ear as he laid me on our bed.
"Rest now love." he mumbled as he climbed in beside me and pulled me against him; how was I to rest when his body pressing against mine had every one of my senses on edge.
In the dark confines of our room again I rubbed my body against his beneath the blankets, my hands drifting under his shirt the feel of his hard muscles beneath my fingertips exciting me further.
"Mnm...Freya love...you're supposed to be resting not driving your husband up the wall." he groaned only for me to slid my hand further down discovering quickly how excited I truly had him, "Mnm...enough...not now...you need to rest." he breathed then grabbing my hands he pulled them up between us and pulled me so tightly against him I couldn't move them, "Rest..." he simply stated and sighing in aggravation I did so.
