Shawn's POV

As soon as the plane hit the ground I knew something wasn't right. There was this feeling in the pit of my stomach. I had no idea though.

I reached the conveyor belt to collect my luggage and the feeling grew as I approached the outside world. As I approached near home. Near Isle.

Isle had been on my mind ever since the day I was her cabbie. It was a miracle for her gran to be in the same car. Because if it wasnt for Cam I'd NEVER have the balls to actually speak to her.

But God had other plans. It was as if Cam was our cupid?!

Isle sent me the L word yesterday. I really should accept the fact that I'm not Like the other guys. Ive always been the calm, simple and wise one. Maybe that's why I'm not throwing parties and wasting my parents money on useless things. I don't find a reason for isle not liking me. I have impressed her parents except for the fact that they were impressed 90% cos they worked for my parents.

I reached my room did all the unpacking and went for a shower. I was going straight to meet Isle. I just couldn't wait anymore.

~~~~~
But it's hard to say that the next place where I had to go was the cemetery.
Cam was no more. Isle was empty. I was broken.
I didn't know what to do. Isle looked so empty. And her eyes showed the deepest shade of hollowness. The glow on her face had vanished. I couldn't see her like this. It was too much for me.
Her parents were equally sad. Her father for some reason kept in sobbing on Cam's grave. I guess there were closer than they appear, because sometimes the people who seem far away from each other are the closest ones. Something like kind distance relationships, although they don't work out well do they.....
My thoughts were interrupted when I saw Isle coming towards me. I gave her a nod and she acknowledge with a smile. I THOUGHT she was feeling numb, but she's smiling? What is the catch? Is this a practice funeral or what? God knows what goes on Cam's mind.
"Hey", she said her nose red from crying and eyes swollen.
~~~~~

"Hey!", I'm terribly sorry to ask this question but since you were smiling please tell me that Cam is organising a fake funeral here?

She laughed with a sob and said, "you wish", her voice almost break down. Her lips were all red form the cold and selfish of me to say but I really wanted to kiss her. Cam would've wanted me to do that.

So I did just that. I took her hand in mine and led her down the cemetery to a bench far from Cam's grave.

We both sat on the green bench wet from the melted snow, the green paint scraped off a bit where people sat.

"So how have you been?"

"Sad I guess?", Isle said sniffing.

I hugged her and she responded mutually.

"Tell me what happened".

"I don't think that's a good idea"

"No, Isle I love you, you know that I assume so please never hide anything from me. Even if you hate me or the feeling's not mutual tell me, but never hesitate to share anything from me okay?"

"Yeah, okay", she mumbled.

We kept quiet for sometime. I, because I didn't want to push Isle into further interrogation at this point of time. She needed space. She kept quiet, for God knows what reason.

After downtown she spoke.

"The last thing she said before going away was to not lose you, what did she mean?"

"I'm speechless Isle, I really don't know what to answer to that", I said dumbstruck.

"I think she wanted me to marry you", she said giving out a small laugh.

"No offence but she was right I guess. I would like to do that you know"

"Do what?", She asked confused.

"You know do that. Like marry......."

"Oh shut up you cocky bastard. I swear gran's gonna laugh when I tell her this......", She stopped realising that there was no gran to listen to her anymore.

And I realised that there was no Cam to fulfill her wish list anymore. That's the exact point where a great idea hit me.

Amd I wasn't go let go off this chance. I looked at Isle. Her grey eyes and her beautiful face. I said, "I have an amazing idea!"

She cheered up a bit and asked what?

"I'll tell you on one condition"

"What might that be?"

"Can I kiss you?"

She blushed like a tomato but I had to do this first. So I took her face in my hand and kissed her for a long time. A very long time.

But the best part was that she didn't pull away and instead wrapped her arms around my neck.

When we finally did pull away she said, "I'm sure gran's spirit is somewhere around trespassing our moment. Lets go to her grave and bid her farewell. She did afterall live a life from telegram to Twitter!"

And I couldn't agree more.

And just like that Cam went away from our lives giving us our share of battle in the world.
