Long story short: My day went great! The boy I had just met and I went to my mother's house for lunch. Which made her extremely mad. Me bringing some boy I had just met in her and Steve's home? It was so fun honestly, she was mad but couldn't say anything to me because I'm the only one who still willingly visits her cheating, gold digging ass.
And in addition to my mean behavior, Nico wouldn't stop talking. It was like Christmas but better. Nico told Steve, he reminds him of his grandfather. He asked my mom if they met on one of these shows 'Millioner looking for a wife'.
"Lunch was nice, Mrs. J. Thank you." Nico told my mom after we finished eating.
Mom just nodded but seemed very uncomfortable having him in the house. She, then turned her face to me and said. "So? You and Daisy are OK now, right?"
I almost had forgotten about all of this. To be honest I wished I could just run away, leave this life behind and start a new one.
"I got a new haircut, you know." I said and clenched my teeth.
Nico looked at me confused. Not because of the way I've been acting but because he was wondering how I used to look like.
"Yeah, and it's very nice." She faked a smile.
I felt like she didn't really care about me anymore. I know it's hard when you have a troubled kid but she always made me feel like I failed her expectations and I should just spent the rest of my life trying to correct myself.
"Yeah, we better get going." I looked at Nico.
They walked us to the front door without saying anything, like they always do.
"Goodbye, Mrs. and Mr. J. Hope I'll get to see you again." Nico grinned.
"Yes, yes. Bye, boy." Steve said. "It was nice to see you, November."
I didn't reply, just started walking down the road. Never liked this guy, never will.
"They seem nice." Nico was walking right besides me.
I nodded. Truth be told, I had just brought a complete stranger to my mother's house and now I was left alone with him, I was a bit concerned.
"You're still coming to Rosie's, right?" He looked me in the eyes and I couldn't help but say yes, because it really seemed like he wanted me to go.
"But promise you're not a rapist." I stopped walking and pointed my pinky at him.
"I promise." He started laughing and pinky-promised me.
"It's actually not that funny because I have to make you promise and be scared but that you're chill because 'Man, a woman? To rape me? Yeah, right!'."
He gave me a weird look but then silently agreed. We didn't walk that long but it seemed like a long time because Nico, like always, didn't stop talking. We were standing in from of a small house, in a rather friendly area which was not what I was expecting.
"C'mon get in. It's fine, Rosie is a good friend of mine." He held the door open for me.
We got up the stairs and Nice opened another door with a "STAY OUT" sign on it. The room was filled with people. It was just 3pm, what's wrong with these guys?
Oh, God. What was I doing with mylife? At this point it seemed like a didn't give a damn, which was the honest truth. I just needed to shake things off.
"Rosie!" Nico's voice squcked. "Ro-" He stopped when he spotted the back of a red haired girl sitting on the bed with an ashtray near her. "There you are."
When she turned our eyes met and those were the deepest, darkest black holes I have ever seen. Frankly, she was very pretty.
