PROLOGUE

I look around the hall and see if the sea of people would disappear at any moment. I just can't stand a room full of people, fussing over some worthless stories, gossips as they call it. "Ugh... First day of school..." I muttered. I put my headphones on and at last free from noise. Some people stared at me with fear in their eyes and some hid their faces as I passed by. I was the school's bad boy ever since. I was called heartless, cold and selfish but they didn't really know all about me. I always get into fights with my friends by my side and we're kind of popular because of our looks but I really don't care. I played and broke tons of hearts and I never really cared. Not a single one.

I was still not satisfied. I dated a lot of girls but none of them worked out for me.Gullible little ladies. I pity you.

I went in to the office to grab my class schedule and went on to my first class. As I entered, I saw an unfamiliar face in class. She's new. And I felt something I didn't expect. My heart skipped a beat as I examined her from head to toe. Long, wavy brown hair, fair skin, luscious pink lips... Oh those pink lips.. I was mesmerized by her but then I realized, I had to keep my bad boy image. I sat on an empty seat next to her and she faced me and smiled. "Hello..." she said shyly and I pulled off the best annoyed look on my face and hissed, "What do you want?" Her smiled faded and she looked away from me and spoke up, "I was just saying hi, jerk." I chuckled at her response.

"Better get used to it sweetheart. I'll be right here beside you until the school year ends." She faced me again and gave me a glare while I gave her wink. "Calum Hood." I took out my hand and she looked at it for a few minutes and she smirked at me. She held it and twisted my hand with a lot of force. God she was strong! I shouted at her action and my face started to heat up with the pain she was giving me. "Skylar Williams. Nice to meet you." "Agghhh!!!"
