"You shouldn't stand with your knees locked, and I don't want to break that pretty nose, so you better raise your arms to shield it." Mael sounded tired. Tired of me I guess
"I'm trying!" I snapped back and attempted to land a blow near his ribs but he got me instead and delivered a punch in the underside of my jaw
"Well you've got to try harder." He gritted as he towered over me while I crumpled on the mat "You're obviously wasting your time with that one." Dad said and he sounded disappointed but I could care less because I was nearly mindless with the pain.
"Don't be such a drama queen Kali, stand up!" A high pitched voice taunted followed by a tug at my left or was it right foot? I'm not even sure because of the ringing in my ears "I feel bad for her though, that's a mean right hook."
That's the last thing that I heard as black dots slowly claimed my vision.

"That one's hopeless." They kept on talking about how I'm not fit for this kind of life, how no amount of training will fix me and how I won't survive, to hell with my emotional well being since I'm pretty sure that they are aware that I already regained my consciousness.

"If she's my daughter I'll disown her right away."

"That's too harsh," I bit back a smile at that, comforted that one of my cousins can emphatize with me

"If she's my daughter I'd keep her under lock and key out of shame." My smile turned upside down

"Nevermind subtlety, huh." I grumbled and they both turned to look at me

"Well, hello to you too." Zeta and Juno said in unison while wearing the same expression, I would have been disconcerted at how freakishly similar their nuances and actions were if not for the fact that I saw them everyday for the novelty to get old

"What are you doing here?"

"The big guys asked us to fetch you," Juno answered before quickly adding "its completely againts our wills."

"What would they fetch me for?" I asked, slowly sitting up on my bed and wincing because I accidentally turned my head and felt pure agony when pain vibrated in my skull and not only that because my whole body also felt like a soggy bread stick because of the beating it recieved yesterday.

"We are going on a hunting trip." Zeta replied and before I could fully register what she just said she held back her arm and threw something sharp right at me. I was too shocked that I just stood very still as the object zoomed right under my left ear, almost nailing my shoulder as it wedged itself on the wooden head board "Trust me, you are going to need that." She added just as her twin tossed some clothes on my bed

"Don't keep us waiting." Juno mumbled with a smug smile before they marched outside and I was left clutching my chest where my heart is wildly thrashing.
