"Love..."
A soothing familiar voice lingered into my ears yet I chose not to open my eyes. I know this voice. That's the sound of my home, my love.
"Love..." the voice said again, this time sounding a bit eager.
And as a feeling of a smooth palm touching my naked shoulder made my nerves shiver, I heard the voice giggled. So damn heart melting.
My chest started to pound.
"Wake up, Love." It said, as it continued its soft giggling sound.
The request was indeed inviting, I still chose not to open my eyes. For inside me, I am feeling that this is just a dream. And I would never, ever want to be awake.
The loving soft giggling voice continued to tell me to open my eyes. My lips sure are stretched into a morning smile. How can you not? When this kind of tender touch and voice try to wake you up in the morning?
Finally, I opened my eyes. I want to see her face. I want to stare at my love.
I felt the bed sank a bit as the palm on my shoulder went to fondle my left cheek. Slowly turning my body to see, I searched for the voice's face.
There it is... I grinned. So beautiful, breathtakingly beautiful. I wonder why am I still alive when this picture greets me every morning, taking my breath away in an addictive way.
"Good morning, beautiful." I greeted her, grinning like an idiot.
She then pinched my cheek and smirked.
"Baho ng hininga mo, Love!" she laughed.
Damn, that laugh... contagious and dangerous. It is as well, addictive. Everything about her is addictive.
I know, I just woke up so it smells nasty. I hissed jokingly and stole a kiss on the tip of her nose anyway, it made her pout.
Gods, please let the time freeze?
But then that pout turned into a sweet smile, as she gently cupped my face with her hands and stared at me, her face getting closer and closer to mine.
And I, again, closed my eyes to savor her soft, scrumptious lips. She moved her lips gently and mine danced with hers.
I can feel her bare legs touching my thighs for she's already seated on my crotch, astride. She's wearing no bra under my slightly over-sized shirt hanging loose on her inviting shoulders.
"Love?" I said between our light but passionate kisses.
"Hmn?" she answered, quite busy on what she's doing with my helpless lips.
"Why... uhm... are feather stuffing scattered on... hmn.. our bed?" I curiously asked.
.
.
Suddenly, the soft lips stopped dancing with mine. I heard no answer.
.
.
"Love?"
.
I opened my eyes to see her.
.
.
Empty bottles of wine and liquors scattered on the floor. The thin sunlight pierced through the gap between the curtains in Aly's dark room.
Her body's rested on the cozy chair near her bed and the window, a bit achy.
And her head, her head's heavy and throbbing with pain. Vision, blurry.
On the floor, mixed with in the bottles and trashes, is an envelope.
A wedding invitation.
"Dennise & Luis" it said.
.
.
"Putang panaginip."
And that was when Aly's straight face melted down with such pain, disappointment, misery, agony, hurt. Her chest broke down.
"Ngayon nga pala kasal nila."
That's the thing she said as she opened another bottle of whiskey and drank.
Congrats Den.
