 "Ba't lukot mukha mo, Beh?"

"Wala."

"Ses... Alams na 'yan. Wala kang ka-date sa Valentine's Day no? HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Loko."

"Woman of few words ka ata ngayon no?"

"Ssshh. I'm studying, Jho."

"Okay, beh. Good luck sa paghahanap ng date! HAHAHAHA!"

Bea's phone vibrated after her best friend, Jhoana left their apartment. A message popped up saying, "You're bestfriend's perfect, Bei. I'm glad I visited you and met Maddie. I REALLY LIKE HER. I'M SERIOUS THIS TIME." – Cous Kat

Kat is Bea's cousin. Born and living in Canada, she decided to visit Bea while enjoying her break from school. She then met Bea's closest friend, Maddie. It was when she arrived in the airport, saw and ignored her cousin, eyes locked into Maddie.

"We clicked." As Kat would dreamily tell Bea.

Bea could not concentrate on what she's studying, gripping her phone with her eyes turned into thin lines. She chose not to reply to her cousin's message.

"MADDIIEEE!!!!! YOU'RE A FREAKING WOUND IN MY ASS! WHY ARE YOU DATING MY COUSIN? SHE'S A PLAYGIRL! YOU DESERVE SOMEONE BETTER!"

Little did she know, Maddie stopped by her apartment to give her and Jhoana some take out from where Maddie at Kat had their dinner.

"Ano 'yon Bei? Talking to yourself, again?" Maddie smirked as she raised her hand holding the taken out food.

"Jesus Christ! Could you frigging knock?!"

"Dinner? Sabi ni Jho wala ka pa rawng kain. Seriously, paano ka makaka- concentrate niyan sa inaaral mo kung wala kang kain? Dummy."

Bea was fidgeting, afraid and thankful because Maddie didn't actually hear what she was yelling. She faked a cough. "Y-you actually believed her? Kumain kaya ako."

"Ng ano? Ng isang garapon ng peanut butter?" Maddie snorted. "Eat."

And then there was silence.

"Only if you eat with me." Bea said, looking away.

"I'm full. I just ate outs-"

"With my cousin. I know!"

Maddie was taken aback from how Bea cut her off. "Are okay. Bei?"

She faked a cough again. "I am. You can leave the food on the kitchen counter. Thank you, by the way."

Bea turned to face her table and piled up books. She was about to turn her head when she didn't hear Maddie's answer. It was as if she wanted Earth to suck her down its core. Her heartbeat was hammering and she couldn't seem to think straight. All she knew was that it seemed as if all her blood was sucked by her brain. And the feeling of someone's weight laid on her back and shoulder. It was Maddie, with her arms wrapped around Bea.

"Tampo ka?" Maddie's words rang loud into her ear. She swallowed hard.

"Okay. I will eat with you." Maddie said. Bea couldn't push her away. Because the truth is, Bea misses her more that anyone could ever grasp.

"Okay. Get off my back, you're heavy, Dummy." Bea finally answered. She then received a playful peck on her cheek from her best friend's lips. She'd see its beautiful smile that's complemented by its smiling eyes. And it's her turn to smile at her best friend. This is stupid. I am stupid.

The silent but with banter dinner they had passed and just like before when the two were still living together in their apartment, Maddie helped Bea study. In between informative talks were playful sarcastic banters and carefree giggling and laughter. It was home again for Bea.
