Gideon was furious. First, the rebels had destroyed much military instruments. Then they had invaded his rally and execution. Now they had raided a shipment truck with top secret weapons hidden in the cargo. They had taken it and were gone.
The boy threw a fit and tugged his hair but quickly stopped when it messed up the style. He straightened his hair back out and called to a guard.
"Did anyone see the rebels responsible?" he asked the man. "Who was it? Where did they go?!" Gideon demanded.
He was standing on the table so he could be eye level with the guard. Even thought Gideon was small, he was intimidating and the guard was backing away from the angry boy.
The guard stammered, "Uhh.. Y-yes sir. They were seen running into the woods."
"What direction?"
"Towards the mystery shack, sir," said the man in a shaky voice.
Gideon straightened his back and got a scowl on his usually smug face. His eyes started to twitch. "What did the rebels look like?"
The guard gulped. "Well, two were older men. They looked the same with short gray hair. One was a girl with long red hair. Two kids had brown hair, a boy and a girl."
Gideon stood there and screeched, "THEM DARNED PINES! Always interfering with my plans. That's gonna have to stop."
Gideon turned around, still on the table, with his hands behind his back, contemplating what to do. He thought before coming to a conclusion.
"Hmmmm. To push out the rats, one must destroy the nest."
The guard was puzzled at this. "But sir. The shack is in ruins. It was destroyed during those anomalies."
"Yes, but I have reasons to suspect they are still there," said Gideon.
"How do you suggest we rid of the rebels?"
"How else would you get rid of a pest? Burn down the shack. Tomorrow."
The guard nodded. "Yes sir." He promptly turned around and left the office.
Gideon jumped back down into his seat and chuckled. "Bye-bye Pines"
