Chapter 16

"Darcy, I-" Liam started, but I ran away too quickly for him to say anything.

I wanted to keep running, run as far away from here that my legs would carry me, but I decided that it'd be too stupid to even jump to a conclusion that this place is already wretched even though I've never even gave then the chance to prove themselves that they're not that bad.

I mean, come on. I'm starting to cry over a guy that I barely even know saying that my personality is too much for them to handle. Likewise-

Actually... now that I think about it... I have a reason.

My body turned around as I faced a hopeful looking Liam standing in a darkened doorway, probably knowing that I'd give him a second chance.

"Well?" He asked, smirking hopefully.

I smiled a bit, before turning around again. "One more." I whispered, turning around and running back to him. I grabbed hold of him tightly, hoping to hug the life out of him. But I made sure not to kill him because most fangirls would not be happy with that.

"I'm sorry." He whispered, repeating it over and over again.

"It's alright." I replied, pulling away from him. His big brown eyes stared into my green ones as he started tearing up.

"What's the matter?" I asked, walking towards him a bit.

He rubbed his face with his hands as he stepped back. "You look... just like your mother."

My eyes widened at the sound of Liam's voice. "You knew my mother?"

"Don't tell your dad this, but Caley and I... we have been friends since Harry forgot about her. I never told Harry because he would become attached to you and it'd be too rough on him to be a teenage father in the biggest band this world has ever known. I was the only boy who knew, keeping the secret to myself the whole time as management made me keep the secret."

"How come you didn't tell Harry about it?"

"As I said before, it'd be too hard on him. Management also mad  me keep the secret forcefully."

"Do you know where she is now?!" I asked excitedly.

If Liam did know where my mom was, then this would be pure gold to me, I'd finally be able to see my mom again. Harry'd be happy to see her, just as much as I would, but Harry'd also be guilty that he forgot about us. But if he didn't know, then I guess I'd just have to live with it.

I mean, that's just life right?

"I'm sorry, but no. We had talked about you a lot Darcy, about how much she missed you even though-" He stopped himself before he said anything else.

"Even though what?" I pushed, wanting to know.

So far that I'm concerned, each time Liam has talked to me since I've arrived he's always started to say something, but stopped himself. And each time it happens, we're talking about my mom.

"Even though-... even though she had left you." He hesitated, almost as if he had thought of something to make up.

"You hide the truth." I accused, staring deeply into his petrified eyes.

"And what would the truth be?" He gulped.

"How would I know? Like I just said, you're hiding it." I said.
