Kat’s POV
“I’ll get it.” Nick says and I’m surprised at his thoughtfulness.
As he grabs the doorknob I feel my nerves going crazy. The door swings open and I see Niall looking so handsome in a shirt and tie. He’s even got on a blazer, nobody has ever dressed this nice to take me out before.
“Kat ain’t here!” Nick says and tries to close the door. Niall sticks his foot in the door blocking Nick from closing it.
“Nick what’s your fucking problem?! Don’t ruin my night you douche!” I yell at him.
“Hi Niall I’m sorry for Captain Dickhead over there.”
“Oh don’t worry, I’m just glad you didn’t change your mind.”
“Why would I do that? I’m glad we’re going out.” I smile.
“Ok then, let’s go. I have a great night planned.” He grabs my coat and helps me get it on.
“Thank you Niall.” I smile shyly and we walk out the door. This is going to be a great night.
We walk down the hallway of the dorms and all the girls are staring at Niall. Sorry girls he’s all mine tonight. As we get closer to the door I hear girls chattering and I know it’s about me and Niall. I hate when people talk crap about something they know nothing about. It’s so disrespectful and just so not necessary. I guess Niall sensed my uneasiness towards the girls and wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him. I’d be a damn liar if I didn’t say I liked it. He felt so comfortable and warm, I just wanted to nuzzle closer to him but it’s too early for that. It’s only our first date and I don’t want him to get the wrong impression of me.
We finally reach his car and he opens my door then closes it after I get in. He makes his way to his side and starts the car. As we drive to our destination I let him know how good he looks.
“You look so handsome tonight.” I blush slightly.
“Thank you Kat, you look amazing. I was speechless when I first saw you. That and that guy was just rude and I was trying not to say anything to ruin the night.”
“Yeah I don’t understand why he was acting like that. Nick is Jaz’s boyfriend, he’s usually rude to almost everyone. He’s never acted in my defense before, I’m not used to it.” I wonder what’s going on.
“Why wouldn’t you be used to someone defending you?” I don’t want to talk about this tonight.
“It’s a rather long story and I think we should leave it for another night.” I reply and he nods understandingly.
After what seems like a decent drive of random conversation and both of us singing along to whatever comes on the radio, we pull up to a very nice restaurant. It seems quite expensive and I feel so guilty right now. Niall shouldn’t be spending so much money on me just for one dinner. I can’t tell by the exterior of the building what type of establishment it is but it sure smells great outside. The instant aroma of grilled steaks and vegetables is heavenly and I can’t wait to see what the night has in store. Niall shuts off the car and is opening my door before I can even grab the door handle. I look up at him and can’t help but smile at him, he’s smiling at me and it’s just a beautiful sight. The sparkle in his blue eyes is accentuated by the moonlight and it’s me that’s now speechless. He’s simply a beautiful human being.
Niall grabs my hand and walks next to me toward the door where a nice gentleman opens it welcoming us inside. Niall informs the hostess that he made a reservation and she seats us immediately.
“Niall this place is so beautiful, and seems like it’s so expensive. We could’ve even gone to McDonald’s and I would’ve been happy.” His face has a confused look as he takes in what I just said.
