SasuNaru • It Was Never Enough

Chapter 2

Naruto were tiptoeing the moment he unlocked the door and passed through the entrance. He especially don't want to see his boyfriend right now, not after what he did.

"He's not here? Thank go-"

A deep and sullen voice suddenly greeted Naruto's ears, making him to startled himself.

"Where were you last night? You promised that you'll only be gone for two hours and yet you didn't come home."

Naruto saw Sasuke sitting at the corner of the room, watching at the blank television for god knows how long. He noticed the cigarette buds lying on the coffee table as sign that Sasuke have been waiting for him since last night.

"Sas-suke. Yo-you didn't go to the college yet? I thought you have submission due today?"

"Don't try to change the subject Naruto and answer me now." Sasuke said cold and demanding. His stares fixed on Naruto, studying the latter.

"I jus-just, sorta crashed at my friend's place because it was already late an-and I drank a lot yesterday." Naruto was fidgeting, scared to look at his boyfriend's eyes.

"You're drinking last night? With whom?"

"My frien-friend seriously! Stop interrogating me, it's like you don't even trust me." Naruto screamed, getting all mad and protective of himself.

But Sasuke was as calm as ever. He shrugged slightly at Naruto's odd behavior, as if he noticed something already. He said in his own amusement, "I never said anything about not trusting you so why you looks so scared right now? As if I'm going to find out that you did something terrible last night- which I hope that you didn't or you will regret it Naruto."

"Is that so?" Naruto hummed nervously. He headed to his room where he shared with Sasuke as he said, "Then I'm going inside, as I already late for the lectures. The professor is going to scold me again!"

After Naruto's figure went out of sight, Sasuke's eyes still fixed at the place his lover was at, thinking of something that has been bothering him for quite some times. Not be able to come up with any ideas, he got up from his seat, shuffled around to find his things and finally headed to the door.

Didn't even bother to tell Naruto that he will leave without him.

As soon as Naruto stepped inside the room, he rushed to the secluded cube at the corner of the room. With shaky hands he turned the shower on, letting the cold rain hit his clothed body. His mind was in mess at that time and just hoped that everything that ever happened to him earlier was just a scary dream.

Naruto cooped inside the bathroom after he took a long shower, with regret painted all over his face. He muttered sadly, "What have I done?"

"Didn't I warned you for not showing your smug face at my place ever again?"

"Come on Sasuke, I'm just visiting my ex after so long of being away. There's nothing wrong with that right?"

"Hn."

"What? Could it be that you had a fight with your lover again? Is it about yesterday? He saw us? I was careful enough in not showing my face though. Do I have to wear masks now?"
