Confession was all I could think about, every thought that ran through my mind was the what I believed to be the lifeless body of my ex-partner lying on the floor I had put him on. In the court of law, mistakes aren't a justified reason. 'No your honour, you see I mistakenly pushed him down the stairs...In the midst of an argument we had...About our unhappy relationship. There was no foul play whatsoever.' I can almost hear the jury sniggering from here, knowing that it was going to be a quick case finding me guilty.
I didn't even know what had been going on with Liam, I hadn't seen him since that night – all this time I had assumed he'd be fine and safe back at home but he could be in a coffin six feet under without a single word said to me. I could have killed him.
Or it could be the complete opposite, he could be out for vengeance. The adrenaline of seeking revenge is too much to give up, so does this mean that Liam is behind all of this? He is to be the new A? For a title so big, he seemed to me to not have that much boiling blood ruining through his body yet he didn't seem to have much intelligence either.
But it had to be him.
I left my keys lying on the desk next to Ezra's computer, following so by throwing the small amount of coffee I had left down the sink. My fingers ran over the note that Ezra had left for me before he headed out to work this morning and my heart sunk at the feeling of not being able to see him again. I couldn't endanger him for any longer though, I had to fight this battle for myself.
I headed out of Ezra's apartment, out of the brew down towards my old home that I was no longer accustomed to due to the long periods I had stopped at Ezra's.
[What do you want from me?]
I couldn't think of anything witty nor was threatening that I could say to the new anonymous stalker but it crucial that I just got straight to business. There was nothing funny or amusing about this situation, I found myself reliving my high school years over again. I knocked on the door to my home but was left with no reply so instead I went for the key under the potted plant that was a spare, letting myself back in. As soon as I shut the door behind me I quickly unlocked my phone once more.
[I've had to go home, family business – I probably won't be on my phone for a while. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow. –Aria]
I was about to press send but with the thought of me doing something drastic my mind quickly changed its thought process.
[I've had to go home, family business – I probably won't be on my phone for a while. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow. I love you. –Aria]
As soon as I hit send letting my phone lay on my bed, it almost instantly beeped. Thinking it was Ezra, I picked it up with leisure but of course, it was not to be him.
[The bell tower. Midnight. Alone.
-A]
