"Was Niall with you?" Maddy asked as I appeared on the path. "No." I walked past her to the monkey bars. I pulled myself up on them, sitting on the top. "How do you always do that?" Harry looked up to me, shielding his eyes from the sun. "It's easy. Watch." I hopped down and slowly climbed back up. "I think I've got it." Harry processed what I did and began to try. He almost made it up to the top, but missed his footing and fell to the ground. "Maybe it's not so easy." I swung upside down, crashing into him, smashing foreheads. "Thanks." he pulled me to the ground.
"What was the point in coming here?" Maddy asked as Niall finally decided to join the rest of us. "Yeah, we haven't been here in awhile." Louis added. "I don't know. It's just something about coming here that keeps us drama free. Since we stopped coming here, we've had a boatload of drama. I just want it to stop." I seriously thought this playground kept us all off of each other. "You know, in a weird way she's right." Harry thought about it. "How so?" Liam asked. "Like, like this morning. Lou and I had never fought before. Ever." he looked to Louis and apologized once again. "My life's gotten better. I got Nye." Maddy leaned in for a kiss, but Niall just shrugged her off. "What is with you today?" Maddy stormed off.
Everyone else dispursed off around the playground, leaving Niall and I alone. I had to make it right with him. "Niall." I caught his attention. "Char. I'm sorry for earlier. I really was being a real jerk and didn't even realize it until later. I really shouldn't have done that this morning-" he began. "It's in the past. Nothing can be done about it. We made a bad choice. Time to get over it." I stood up and stuck my hand out to him. He gave me a look. "It's my hand stupid. Take it." I waved it in front of his face until he did. "Where are we going?" he asked as I led him across the playground. "Where do we always go?" I asked as I dropped his hand as we stood in front of the Merry-Go-Round. Not the one with the horses you see in amusement parks. The one that you had to spin yourselves and it isn't qualified as safe anymore. You know what I'm talking about.
"You go first." he helped me on and I held on tight. Niall grabbed on to one of the pole and pushed it forward, tossing me back. He ran around in circles a few times before it picked up speed. When it went fast enough he hopped on with me, enjoying the ride. "Remember when we were little-" he began. "And we would pretend that we were going into outerspace." I finished as we both laughed. "You guys seem like you made up." Harry joined us on the Merry-Go-Round and rocked the three of us back and forth with his legs. "Were they mad at each other or something?" Liam walked over and squeezed himself between Harry and I. "Um... well we had a small disagreement this morning while you were asleep." I half lied. "About what?" he asked. "Something stupid." Niall tried to cover for me. "Oh." Liam took that as a reasonable answer.
"If were all sitting, who's going to spin us?" I asked as Zayn, Maddy and Louis were nowhere to be found. "I will." Maddy appeared from behind a tree. "What were you doing behind a tree?" I asked walking over to it. "Nothing." she shoved me to the ground and ran in front of it. "Way to be." I said as I dusted myself off. "Let me see Mads." Niall walked over and tried to move her. "No." she lowered her gaze. "Then I'll just have to do this." Niall leaned in and kissed Maddy. "Not gonna work Nye." Maddy shrugged him off like he had to her earlier. Deperate times call for desperate measures." Harry picked Maddy up and moved her. "Put me down!" Maddy struggled out of Harry's arms. "Mads we just want to see. No need for dramatics." I said looking at a message carved into the tree in front of me.
"Why were you hiding this? It's cute." I looked over to Maddy who was trying to get through Harry. "It's embarrasing." Maddy's face turned bright red. "Mads, why would you hide this? Why would you be ashamed of it?" Niall looked at her confused. "Enough looking at it." Maddy finally got past Harry and stood in front of the tree again. "You've got some mad skills here. You've kept it a secret all this time?" I crossed my arms in front of her. "Yeah." she shyly smiled. I'm guessing you have no idea what we're talking about. You probably think we're crazy for looking at a tree. It's not just a tree though. It was more like a piece of artwork. Maddy had carved a picture of her and Niall into the tree. I didn't know she had it in her. I always thought she hated art. She's one good liar. I don't understand why she's been hiding it, she really good.
