Last year was rough.
The year before was just as rough but with an added layer of anger, and confusion.
You see, 2 years ago I came out to my friends as a boy. I was nervous, of course, but I knew that I had to in order to be happy.
I told Clare first. I came out to her by quoting Time to Dance, one of her favorite Panic! songs:
Kootlyn: Did you know there's a Panic! At The Disco lyric about me?
Cloore: No. XD What is it?
Kootlyn: you know in time to dance when it says "boys will be boys hiding in estrogen"?
Cloore: Haha yeah.
Kootlyn: yeh
Kootlyn: I'm a boy hiding in estrogen.
Kootlyn: *finger guns
Cloore: LOL XD
Kootlyn: Even though that was a joke I'm serious.
Kootlyn: I'm a boy.
Kootlyn: Please don't hate me.
Cloore: OML I'M SO HAPPY! YOU ARE AMAZING!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU. :D
Kootlyn: I WAS SO SCARED YOU DIDNT GET IT OR SOMETHING AND I WAS LIKE OH NO WHAT DO I DO BUT AHHH THANK
Cloore: That must have been so scary for you BTW I'm proud I would have been such an effing wimp!
Kootlyn: im honestlyy shaking so much.
Kootlyn: oh yeah and it'd be awesome if u could call me ash/ashton!! but not around anyone but our friend group because i havent told anyone else yet.
Cloore: Definitely. Also ace name choice lyk damnnnn it cool.

Next, I had decided I wanted to come out to Macey. She and I were texting each other, and from what I know Clare was with her. She had sent me a list of non-binary names, which is what started the confession.
Moocey: Some of these names are really cool. My favs are definitely River, Robin, Ash, and Mack.
Kootlyn: yeh, I like them too.
Kootlyn: Speaking of Ash, there's something I need to tell you.
Macey: What?
Kootlyn: I'm a boy.
Macey: Oh my pepe!!! That's so great oMg. I'm so proud of you!
Kootlyn: and I brought it up becuase it would be nice if you could call me ash/ashton??
Your name has been changed to: Ash
Macey: Yeah sure, that's totally fine. Can we see you?
Ash: Not today, I'm going out with my parents.
Macey: Okay. Maybe soon? Thanks for telling mee. :)))
Kootlyn: Yeah hope to see you soon. Your welcome and also thanks for being chill.
